This picture is as image. While the modern dagashi was developed after World War 2, dagashi has been around since the Edo period (1603-1868), though the region of origin is unknown. "Dagashi", made from starch or corn, was the commoner equivalent of the more expensive "jōgashi", which was higher quality and made from white sugar. Modern dagashi experienced its greatest popularity from the 1950s to the early 1980s in Japan when dagashiyas were common and a staple after-school hangout spot for younger students. However, in the early to mid- 1980s, dagashiya stores began to diversify their products or were replaced by convenience stores. As of 2016, dagashi can still be found in the occasional dagashiya or ordered online. Culture expos in Japan (especially for schools) sometimes include dagashi and dagashiya displays. Not exactly a box...
"New Japanese Dagashi snack trial BOX set KitKat gift present with AKIBA KING sticker" I got this to give as a gift, not in a box like pictured and also did not have a KitKat included. It was a gift though so the recipient had no idea what to expect.

Not in a box, no KitKat,
This was supposed to be a gift, now I see why this one was so affordable. I'm only upset because I'm not gunna gift a plastic baggy to someone. It also had no kit Kat which is a huge let down. The snacks are small but still look pretty good, this is something I'd buy for myself to sit and eat. The description is a lie. Can't return or refund either.

Good candy bad size
Lots of these candies was really really small. Some of them wasn't even the size of a fingernail. They did taste really really good though. Lots of flavor.

My kids loved it
We bought 2 of the $12 bags came with around 20 snack/taste size packages. Interesting flavors we used Google translate an had fun during the tasting. Will be doing again .

Small and Disappointing
The photo advertising shows it in a more desirable manner but it’ll arrive as a small party favor size bag of mostly candy. I got it as a gift for someone who dreams to visit Japan and enjoys trying new Japanese snacks and stuff. I was sorely disappointed on the variety, the size, and the presentation for the candy. Some of the flavors of the candy were weird too according to the gift recipient, with some even being as strange as chicken (?)
