I have to say, I got one from the amazon warehouse and it was pretty banged up, but it was only the cover and the bottom of the pages were a little black, but I figured whatever came, I was probably going to cover it as paint, spray and everything else that it didn't matter. And so far it hasn't.I got this art journal for my 2 girls artwork that they bring home from preschool, we make a background and use their art in it. It's a lot of fun and it's great to look back at what they did and when. I have no problems with the paper, it's great thick paper, no bleeding, does Buckle a little when you heat it, but its paper so it will buckle a little with heat. Overall I'll be getting another one when this one runs out eventually.Side note, the pocket on the front cover is somewhat annoying. I tried to get something out and everything came out and I lost things. A smaller pocket or 2 pockets would be better.

Using for mixed media and I really love the paper and quality of the book.

I like the cream-colored, large sized pages and smooth surface. There's a nice envelope on the inside front cover for storing bits of ephemera and the elastic band on the book cover that holds everything closed well. On the downside, the binding doesn't allow the book to lie flat in some places - I have to put another book under the first several pages in order to make the full spread prop up evenly in height and there are places in the middle pages that have trouble laying flat. Not a big deal. I glued the front and back inside covers to the first and last pages because the binding was tearing away from the first and last pages and making them difficult to work on but in doing so, it makes the book look nice too. All in all, this is a good art journal for me. I now recommend it to my art journaling students.

I have been looking for a book with nice size pages. It lays flat to do work across both pages. I absolutely love the paper in it ! The outside will hold up to many days of travel ! Great envelope with closure at the front ! Very happy !!

I love this journal. It lays flat and can take water color, acrylic paint and ink and not bleed through.

I am not usually a fan of working on bristol paper because it has the problems that other reviewers have mentioned - it buckles more than watercolor paper when wet and there is some bleed through with certain products, like sharpie pens. Probably anything with a solvent base will bleed through. It's more of a cardstock and doesn't have the heft that watercolor papers do. But, I knew that from looking at someone else's copy and decided I'd be ok with trying that out. It will challenge me to try using my usual media in different ways. What really caught my fancy is the sturdy binding and how it can be closed up with the elastic thingy around the outside. It also has an envelope inside for flat supplies like stencils and collage pieces. It's well bound with thread (like a library book) so you can do a two page spread without a spiral binding interfering. For some reason, these extra features make me feel like I'm carrying around a special treasure and I really enjoy that. (Go figure... to each her own, eh?) I gave this 4 stars because of the paper and it's also a bit pricey but in every other way it's great.

Beautiful art journal -- stands up to mixed media well, good heavy paper stock. Worth the money!

I'm really happy with this journal! I'm thinking to put a plastic cover so the damaged parts doesn't get worse. I'm thinking they should pack it better so damage doesn't happen, or maybe even re-think the whole cover.When painting with watercolor it will get a bit bubbly - for me that's alright, I really don't mind. But good to know at least. Promarker bleeds through... Tombow does not bleed through.

Mon art journal est de dimension a4, les pages sont épaisse et de très bonne qualité, j'adore le cahier, j'ai réalisé un projet et pas de souci avec l'encre et de l'eau sur le papier.
