What motherboards are compatible with this processor. Also what kind of Ram needs to be used with it?

Any TRX40 motherboard will accept these 3rd gen Ryzen processors (I'm using MSI Creator TRX40 due to having non-duplexed 16 VRM phases for power delivery). I'm using Corsair Vengeance LPX 4x8GB 3600Mhz (overclocked to 3800) and all CPU cores at 4200 with zero issues.

What cooler are you using for this?

Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3. I run alot of CFD simulations on it, usually hit about half the cores at once, but lately using 31 cores and temps with that usually hit about 65-75 C for hours on end. I did put a 2nd Noctua fan on it, and I use a well ventilated Cooler Master H500M case.

It says without cooler. What kind of cooler do I need to go with this processor?

Get coolers which offer full IHS coverage. There are almost none in the AIO (maybe Deepcool ??) land which are both reliable and offer full IHS coverage. In the Air Cooling land, Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 will work. Custom loop will give you the best cooling but at a price and with other things like requiring constant maintenance (every 6 months), checking for leaks, etc.

Why does it say 2990wx in the specs? is this the 2990wx or the 3970x?

As shown in the heading, correct listing model is 3970X (100-000000011)
