Great little lights with lots of light, motion detection is a bit slow but works at a walking pace
beautiful, large solar panel, lots of light and 3 lighting options, highly recommend these.Pro:+you can install them with the supplied screws/anchors or do like I did and use Velcro 3m command mounting strips for easy maintenance if needed.+large solar panel for great light collection+solar on an angle which prevents buildup of dirt or snow, and better solar collection+3 lighting options, off then on with motion, dim then full bright on motion and on full from dusk till dawn. (middle option best in my opinion, constant light with longer battery life)+Provides a lot of light without being blinding or bothering the neighbors too much. We have one every 5 or 6 feet down the side of our house leading to the front gate and it is the perfect amount of light for the 6 foot wide path.Cons:-motion detection can be a bit slow but it works if you are walking up, still far better than walking down a path in total darkness. After 1 month of use during the scorching hot and sunny summer they have worked great, long lasting light source. I plan to add an update after these are up through the PNW rainy winter if I remember.I use the middle lighting option and it not only looks great with the low light it is enough light to see if someone/thing is hiding in the formerly dark areas till the motion sensor kicks on the full brightness. The hardest part was deciding how high to put them and how far apart they would need to go as we had to wait till it was dark to see how the light spread really was. if possible I will upload photos of what it looks like at night in both dim and full brightness when I get a chance. After having them along the path for a month and seeing how they look and function we ordered more to put around other areas of the yard. We've tried a few other options but these are the best so far.

Very functional. 👍
Using as gate light to make locking and unlocking easier without using flashlight. Brightness is perfect to see the lock without blinding me as I approach gate, so far so good.

Performs Best After Exposure to Direct Sunlight
After testing this Solar Basics SB-407 Security Solar Wall Stair & Step Light in two locations, I found a significant difference in performance. The first location was in an open daylight location but shaded from direct sunlight. My second location faced south and exposed the solar cells to direct rays from the sun for most of the day. At that location this light's performance was significantly improved.A push button switch allows me to choose several modes including multiple brightness levels and if this light will sense movement and turn on automatically. In a direct sun location this light charges sufficiently to provide a significant amount of light for my south-facing patio without my having to do any wiring or be concerned about adding to my electric bill. Installation could not be simpler. Two included screws mount this light on a vertical surface. In summary, if the location where you install this light can receive direct sunlight for a significant number of hours per day. I believe that you'll be pleased with its performance, brightness and how long it provides light from its internal battery after dark.

unobtrusive and bright
The Solar Basics SB-407 Security Solar Wall Stair & Step Light is small, but bright. I really liked its small profile which makes it unobtrusive and easier to place so that it isn’t in people’s way along a walkway. We have a tight walkway that threads between a porch and the house and there are window wells on the side that would be easy to kick in the dark. The Solar Basics light was mounted on the wall and fortunately is in sunlight for most of the day.The light has three modes:- the light turns on at dusk at 20% brightness for five hours before it turns off- the light is at 3% brightness unless motion is detected and then it goes to 100% brightness- the light only turns on when there is motion detected. We prefer the second setting with the 3% brightness offering some illumination as people approach the walkway and before the light senses motion. We have other solar lights that turn on with motion, but this is our favorite so far due to the small profile and the brightness.

Works well even in snow
This is an outdoor solar path light. The light measures 6” tall by 4” wide and 3” deep. There is a right angle between the solar panel and LED bulbs and motion/light detector. This assembly is at 45 degrees from the wall mount, so the solar panel is slanted, not flat. The light attaches to a wall 1-2 screws, and a drilling template for the screws is included in the box. The light is powered by a single 18650 rechargeable battery which is consumer replaceable when necessary. There is a single control button that is accessible without taking the light off the wall. The button cycles through off/always on dim in dark/on bright for 20 seconds in dark with motion/on bright for 30 seconds in dark with motion. The light was made in China.I find this light is well-designed for snowy climates. Some of my other LED pathlights are completely useless when it snows because their solar panels are flat. Just a light layer of snow covers up the solar panel so the lights don’t charge. But with this light, the snow just slides right off the solar panel. The control button is also easy to access without taking the light down. I also like that the battery can be changed if it stops keeping a charge. Some of my other solar lights have been frustrating because they work well at first, but then they stop working when the battery gets old and there’s no way to change the battery. This light produces a beam that is bright enough to light a pathway well so that you don’t have to stumble around in the dark. Overall, this light is well designed and easy to mount.
