Jumanji: The Next Level [DVD]

This movie is just as hilarious, if not more funny than the first! The character mix-up is classic and the addition of the 2 elderly characters is priceless! I just love how everyone keeps dying because the old man won't talk fast enough. The only thing I really hope for is that they finally make a 3rd movie. The cliffhanger at the end demands a 3rd movie!! Please!!

This is a direct sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which was partly a sequel and partly a reboot of the 1995 Robin Williams movie. It begins after a time jump when Spencer is in college in NY in a long-distance relationship with Martha, but feeling depressed and cut off from the group of friends. He returns home for Christmas break to find that his grandfather Eddie, played by Danny DeVito is staying in his room while recovering from hip surgery. It is not giving away anything to say he ends up in the game and the rest of the group goes back in to get him out, with unexpected consequences. One of which (again not giving anything away) is that Eddie and his frienemy Milo (played by Danny Glover) end up in the game as well.All of the main cast of characters who appear in the game, Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas all appear. But, this time The Rock and Kevin Hart have to play DeVito and Glover's characters (to hilarious results) and Jack Black has to play Fridge. There are also new characters in the game, including Rory McCann (The Hound from Game Of Thrones, and one of the few outside pro wrestling who can make The Rock look small) playing the big-bad, Jurgen The Brutal, and Awkwafina. Colin Hanks also reprises his role, in a bit of a larger role than he had in the first movie (but not much).For those who get the movie on 4k, it looks and sounds great on UHD. The UHD disc has just previews that play after the disc loads, and the movie itself. On the regular blu-ray disc, the extras include approximately an hour's worth of making-of and behind-the-scenes material, a gag reel, and the same previews as on the UHD disc. A good amount of extras, especially since there are fewer extras being included on the physical disc releases these days.Overall, the movie uses the same formula as the first, a blend of comedy, action, and a bit of drama. Yes, there is quite a bit of bad language and some off-color jokes. So, if you are one that would be driven nuts by that, this is not for you. From what I remember the first movie was not exactly squeaky clean either, but this is definitely not a movie for young kids like the original 1995 movie was. The Rock and Kevin Hart are awesome playing old geezers, and once Awkwafina shows up, she pretty much steals every scene she is in. A mid-credits scene clearly sets up a third movie, that will definitely take things in a different direction. While I cannot say that everyone will like the movie, but if you were a fan of the 2017 movie, this is definitely worth checking out.

I'll keep this one short & sweet because I don't think there's much to be said in full detail.If you enjoyed the first film, I honestly think this one is even better. This sequel shows the future potential for this franchise, and honestly astounds me that it's taken someone so long to make a film that allows for this kind of creativity.Being able to not only have this level of talent, but being able to expand the universe by adding other actors/characters that go into the game so that our A-list stars can be in the movie again, but also play a new character in a new story is just... it's so genius. I hope they make a 3rd because I would love to see Kevin Hart & Dwayne Johnson tackle 2 new actors' personalities. I don't want to ruin it, but they're playing new people this time and it may not be Oscar-worthy acting but boy is it a riot of laughs.Akwafina is a welcome addition, as well as a few others who came to play this time. I would love to hear commentary tracks with the lead 4 for these movies, but alas that will probably never happen. I also agree that the animals in this flick look really good, and I think The Rock has some top dollar people on tap for CGI in his movies because generally it always looks pretty good.This is the template for making a successful franchise, and I have no idea how anyone else can emulate it without the game of Jumanji. Enjoy this next level with the family!

I loved the first movie and was excited when the second version came out and I wasn't disappointed. I really like it

Yeah there's a bit of swearing, but honestly anyone under teen shouldn't be watching movies where people are being hurt/risking death or dying anyways so I'm laughing at everyone who seems shocked that its not "a kids' movie". This should be very obvious given the first movie of this series remake "Welcome to the Jungle". The only small kid friendly Jumanji is the very old original one, which is still pretty good and worth watching on its own!Anyways, other then that I had a LOT of fun watching this movie with my girlfriend. Of course, conservative people might find issue with it due to the main characters occasionally being tossed into the wrong body, but if you're more open minded it's quite fun. Involves character growth, action, a bit of fighting/violence (people getting punched in the face) but technically no gore since they sorta just pop out of existence if they die in the game before they respawn, so if the swearing isnt a huge issue for you to let you kid see, it's totally fine. Also has a bit of adult humor that would just go over any child's head so you'd enjoy it as an adult as well!

Good entertainment. Arrived in good time and in good condition.

I bought this movie as a gift for my brother. We all enjoyed watching it.

I loved how new characters were added and how the new Jumanji characters were added too. The horse on the cover might give one away. Just as entertaining as the 1st one. The next level of the game is a challenge and works. Enjoy 👍

Últimamente es raro encontrarse con mala calidad en los discos UHD y este no es la excepción.La imagen es excelente, con mucho detalle especialmente (obviamente) en tomas con mas dialogo.Los colores se ven vivos y con saturación suficiente sin llegar a ser exagerados. Contraste y brillo son excelentes.El rango de bits ronda la mayoría del tiempo entre 50 y 60 megas, pero hay momentos donde subía a increíbles 80 megas.El Sonido DTS-X es desgarrador y bien implementado. La escena de los mandriles puede ser usada como demostración. Las voces de los actores es clara y jamas es sobrepasada por la acción. Todo esta muy bien balanceado.El disco es de Sony por lo que tiene la opción "IMAX Enhanced" pero en lo personal mi equipo no cuenta con dicha opción.El Servicio de Amazon sin problemas, todo entregado en buen estado y en el tiempo correspondiente.
