This scratchable world map is exactly what I was looking for! The size is perfect (I ordered 36x24), it is large enough to be a great statement piece on the wall while still being easy to frame. I put it in a wooden frame, and it hangs beautifully in our living room. It instantly added a fun and educational touch to the decor. It's super easy to use, even my kids enjoy scratching off the countries we've visited. The surface scratches cleanly without damaging the map underneath, and the colors revealed are vibrant and satisfying. It makes tracking our travels a fun family activity! Functionally, it does exactly what it's supposed to - highlight where you've been and inspire where to go next. And unlike some cheaper maps I’ve seen, this one feels very durable. The material is sturdy and doesn’t tear or crease easily. Highly recommend this for anyone who loves to travel or wants a unique way to document adventures.

I want to preface this to say that I have bought THREE previous scratch off maps, all popular and with great reviews. I’m a little picky because I live on a small oft-overlooked island. One of the three prior maps I purchased had the island chain but not specifically named. When I stumbled across this map, I was intrigued by the advertised quality and the space at both the top and bottom where I could frame it without covering anything up. However, it was missing the islands I wanted to see! I emailed customer service to ask and received a very prompt reply saying that they would include that in the next edition and let me know when it came out. A few months later, I received an email from them with a link to the updated map, which I purchased. I did not receive a discount of any kind so that’s not why I’m writing this review. I’m writing it because, from customer service, to shipping, to product quality—this item is exceptional. Of my now 4 scratch-off maps I’ve purchased, this one is easily the best. It easy to scratch off with clear lines and text. The flags are also aligned well and do not look messy. The material—omg the material! It has a thick water-resistant quality to it so that when I was done scratching off the map and dusting off the gold flakes, I was able to WIPE IT DOWN with a damp cloth for a perfect finish. Couldn’t do that with the other three maps (though one advertised I could). My only tiny complaint is it didn’t come with a tool to scratch off the map with so I used a guitar pick, which worked well. I contacted customer service initially about that and they replied within hours to apologize for the error and to ask for my address to send one out. Didn’t need it after all, but I appreciated the quick reply. If I were to give any advice (besides buy this map!), it would be to frame it in an actual frame and not waste your money on a magnetic poster frame like I have. I love this! Not only is it classy-looking, but it’s also fun and definitely a conversation starter. A friend of mine noticed a small issue, where I think the flag or the outline shape of a country he visited didn't exist, and it’s not a disputed territory but it is fairly small. In my opinion I would love it if the color under the gold was silver or something cooler than normal RYB. Overall, it is a great piece and a perfect way to commemorate your or your loved ones travels. Fun: Absolutely a blast both with the satisfaction of uncovering the place you have been to and discussing why, when, and what happened there, Hangability: Needs either sticky tape or frame to hang Educational value: Probably great for families who go on holiday out of country or state to teach or get kids to research the location and maps. Fit: Perfect for my friends place! It gives off a classy look and is a conversation starter! :)

This map is great! The bigger the better so I can see everything! I first got it in a smaller size, but it was hard to see everything. Instead of using the hangable frame with the magnets from top to bottom, I placed it in a frame with the acrylic plastic cover. It hangs pretty good on the wall. The color quality is good. I love the solid gold and then see colorful states and countries when scratching them off. After laying it flat on the table and hold the corners with something heavy, it took more than 30 minutes to flatten. I tried to re-roll it in the other direction carefully without creasing it. It wasn’t easy to do, but there are some creases on it. It still looks good overall and I love it. The size is good when it’s bigger. It was easy to scratch it off with that scratching tool. Its function is good too. It’s fun to mark off the locations in the world. The price on this big size map is valuable. Life is an adventure wherever I live or travel to!

I have ordered plenty of maps over the years but this is the first "scratch off" type. I read the reviews, price shopped, and decided this one was the best probable option if your an adult... for the 1 star "hard to scratch off" folks out there... I'm sure there are some kids ones made like a lottery ticket you get. If you have an ounce of patience, can follow basic instructions that are given, and some common sense this map is pretty darn cool. Mine actually came with the cap/scratch tool missing (thanks to Amazon not the seller)... no problem, I got a small philips head screw driver and gently scraped it back and forth until it broke through the gold layer and gently worked around the state/country I wanted to clear. Takes a little time to get the borders perfect but it looks really good when it is done with a color fading shading that pops. I actually wasn't sure if your supposed to scrape off the outer gold border so I left mine in place and it looks really crisp... a little harder to do but worth it. I tested a full scrape on Gand Caymon because it was so small I couldn't get just the island... didn't look as good so my advice, leave the outter gold border if you can. If you've been to Antarctica I feel sorry for you, I'd hate to scrape off that whole piece, it would take me hours I'm guessin. The paper it is on is quite thick and held the roll shape pretty stubbornly, so I took the paper sheet it came with and carefully reverse rolled it back around the shipping tube for 10 min or so. Doing that got it flat enough to lay out on a hard surface (table) with a small book on each corner so I could start working on it. I saw one picture that someone posted saying it was too hard to scratch off... it looked like they had it on the bed and let their Kid go to town on it with a quarter... great way to wreck your map folks... don't be that guy/gal. I did find that the silver writing and black lines were a bit harder to get off so have a little extra patience on those parts and just scrape over them a few more times until you can feel that the stuff is dislodged. Wipe off the shavings often so you can see what you need to get as you go. The harder to remove black line do make getting crisp edges easier which is a side bonus. Summery: have patience, scrape side to side and don't dig into the paper, and take your time... and you'll have one cool looking map. Now I need to hit more countries because you get a good feel for how few places you've been once you start one of these... 😂

I gave this as a Christmas gift, and we love it! The map is beautiful and the perfect size for our wall. It was easy to hang up (I got a magnetic frame). Also, a shout out to the seller - our map didn't have the scratcher part, but they mailed me a new one immediately (in fact, they sent two). I wish all customer service was as good ! Since we got it, we've enjoyed scratching off the places we have been, and dreaming of more places to go.

Muy buena calidad, tenia el pendiente de que por venir de lugar distante pudiera venir en empaque dañado pero para nada, viene muy bien protegido y empaquetado. El único detalle si es que hay que mencionar algo es que los estados de México no son precisos, yo siendo de México quería señalar los estados que he visitado y no son exactos en delimitación pero en general muy contenta con la compra.

I bought this map back in 2021. It is good quality, well made, and well thought out by people who clearly travel themselves. It is gorgeous before being scratched, and then only gets better as colours get added. I love the fact that each country has its own colour, instead of being monochrome. I also like that I can scratch off parts of certain countries, i.e. Canada and the US are split by province/state for easy tracking of what you still need to experience! While you shouldn’t need to reach customer service with such a great product, I recently reached out because after several moves, I have no idea what happened to the scratcher. The company immediately offered to send me a new one - 5 star customer service! Overall, I highly recommend this product for the awesome talking piece you can proudly present in your home, as well as customer service that stands by their product.

Amazing product. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality of this map. I've also framed it using a 24x36 frame and it looks spectacular. When I received the map I couldn't find the scratching tool that was promised so I contacted the company asking for it. They were extremely quick to respond (within minutes) and indicated that it should be taped to the inside of the cover (someplace I hadn't considered looking - and lo and behold there it was). I happened to mention that I didn't look there and they took my feedback and said they would look to add that information to their instruction sheet in the future. I was extremely pleased with their level of service and their desire to continually improve their delivery to customers.
