Excellent charger for the money. Comes with 2 ways to hook up to yor battery, alligator clips, and sae plug. My motorcycle already had the plug installed on it from the previous owner so I guess I have a spare. Weather resistance is a plus as my bike stays under a cover parked under my carport, but when there's gusty winds and rain it does blow in, so being weather resistant helps. Once you install your choice of hook up, it's just a matter of plug and play. Very easy. Remeber to set for lead acid ir lipo battery, another usefull feature as I plan on upgrading to a lithium battery in the near future so I don't need to buy another tender/charger. Indicator lights let you know what type of battery is selected, and when the charger is charging. It's made very well and pretty heavy for it's size so I expect it to last for years to come. Also comes with screws so you can mount it to a table or wall. Very happy with my purchase.

This is a battery MAINTAINER, not a charger. It will charge smaller batteries, and given several days, bigger batteries. Excellent for seldom driven vehicles or machinery, especially mowers, boat cranking and trolling batteries. Modern vehicles have so much 'stuff' with 'parasite' electrical drains, making this a crucial tool if a car sits much longer than a week or so. Main Point No.1 - This is WEATHERPROOF!!!!! Most similar devices are NOT. Handy for those without garages. Note that the terminal clamps convert to 'eyes' for a more permanent install and the cord can be routed out the grill leaving a short length sticking out with a 'plug-in' connection. However the supplied battery end cord is only 18" long and I need to get a longer one (I think I saw these on Amazon). Thus, one does not need to raise the hood every time you hook-up the maintainer. Main Point No.2 - This unit has a brain. It will charge until the battery reaches a pre-set upper limit, the shut off until the battery self-discharges to a pre-set lower limit. Main Point No.3 - The unit will not charge if a battery is really drained, which is my only negative comment. So, have your 'Yard-Sale and Flea Market' folks buy every old-school charger they find and use them to 'trick' the modern chargers into functioning.

This product works perfectly. It kept the battery charged while the car was not being used on a regular basis. I would have no problem buying another one or recommending this product to someone else.

I never thought I could be confused by something with just two clips and a plug, but here we are... First, the product is described as a waterproof battery charger. So far, so good. I wanted to use it outside. When I got the product, the instructions said to keep it away from rain and snow. With that conflict unresolved, I pressed on. I have a few other Battery Tender products, and I am familiar with the amber and green LEDs to show charging and full. The unit had the amber and green silkscreen graphic surrounding the LED, so I plugged it in. I was surprised to see the LED glow red. I looked at the images on the 'Zon, and one of the small chargers had a red and green graphic, and another had an amber and green. I checked the instructions, and despite and amber/green graphic on my unit, it appears that the LED should glow red/green. Okay, let's move on. What does the red LED indication mean? At first, it appears that the red indication means that the unit is connected to the battery and is charging. And yet, under Troubleshooting we read that when the red light comes on while storage charging batteries, it means the battery may be defective or it has an excessive current draw. So, when you hook up that charger to the battery while it is in the car, what does that mean? Does it mean that everything is fine and the battery is charging, or does it mean the the battery is defective? Update- I increased this from 2 to 4 stars. I think they just didn't update the printed literature to correspond with the product. It showed a steady red for a few hours, and then went to steady green. The battery was at full charge at that point. I have ordered two more, since I have a number of flooded cell batteries that always seem to be weak or discharged. The one I bought has stayed outside and is still operating fine.

I ordered this battery Tender 800 originally for my 1966 mustang that just sits in the garage. I had already had a battery completely die on me and couldnt be charged up again. So I bought this Tender. I bought this one based on the reviews. It had a lot of reviews and most were great. When I hooked it up, the light was amber came on. So I left it charging for a few hours and went to see if the battery got too hot and nope it was nice and cool. I left it overnight. In the morning the light was still amber. Man three days past and I was thinking this thing wont work since the light was still amber. I guess the battery was so bad that it took almost 5 days to charge and on the 5th day, I looked at it and the light was green! So I went to crack it up. It took a lot of cranking but it started once gas got through to the carb! This tender worked great. At first I thought it didnt work. So now I fully charged my battery and since the light was green I unplug it. Now I charge it up every month. Keep in mind before I charged it the engine wouldnt even turn. All I heard was a click. I also have a 2008 G37 and when I turn off my car the lights stay on for 30-45 seconds or so and it has hight power headlights and that eventually has been discharging my battery. I also sometimes spend y lunch in my car listening to music with the car off. So this discharged by battery so much that it kept my car from starting. I even took the battery out and took it to the auto parts store thinking I would need a new one but they just charged it up. Now I hook up my tender once a month to it and charge it up as well. This thing is so great, I cant believe you just connect it and then just plug it in and it does everything. I would love too see bigger clips or maybe a way you can connect these clips permanently to the battery that way I could just plug it in on both end and bam charging begins. There is probably a way, I am just not that savvy. I definitely recommend this product. Just dont expect to get you battery charged in a couple of hours. It will probably take overnight or a few days depending how bad your battery is.

I ordered this Battery Tender 800 waterproof charger a couple weeks ago and had installed it onto the battery of my mustang that sits for quite a while between starts and drives. Since the battery was at full charge it litterally took a very short time to go into storage mode and do what it was designed to do. Previous to this item I had the Battery Tender Jr that had failed after approx 6 months BUT, in Deltrons defense, I was using it between my jetski and my mustang. I knew it wasnt designed for outdoor use, especially here in the humidity of southwest Florida ( I did have the forementioned items under a carport and the item covered by the jetski seat or mustangs hood). I never blamed the Deltron company and never left a poor review as I was more to blame for using the wrong device for outside storing. I do also own the Battery Tender Plus and have used it inside my storage shed on my RV battery for about 1.5 years now with no problems at all. Though I have not given the BT800 enough time to write a thorough review I realize that thier prodects are above average for the price and wanted to share my overall experience in general with thier products. I can safely assume the BT800 will surpass its expectations as it was desinged as an outdoor product. My mustang does sit under a carport and the BT800 sits under a closed hood where it will never actually get rained on, come in direct sunlight, chemicals, or any type of water outside of humidity. So since its designed for this and even harsher conditions I feel assured it will give me years of practical use. I will come back periodically to update this review as time goes on. I would recommend any of the Deltron products to anyone who plans to use them in the way they were designed! ***update 2/1/15*** Unit still works perfectly under the stangs hood, keeps the battery charged perfectly so its ready to go when I decide to start or drive it. I still highly recommend this product for anyone needing to maintain a battery that is outdoors!

Purchased this Battery Tender 800 so I could keep the battery charged in my Dodge Caravan. It has worked out to be a GREAT investment. I was able to use the ring terminal harness to attach permanently to the battery cable bolts; then ran the lead down and out through the front grill of the van. It has worked flawlessly, and I haven't had to worry about the van being 'dead' when I need it. I bought this 2 years ago and have been using it continually with absolutely no problems whatsoever, and I'm now also using it to keep the battery charged on my alternate vehicle. It is one of the best purchases I've ever made and it has saved me from having to replace at least 2 car batteries, certainly. And now I don't fret about it, so that's good, too! ALSO: I would like to add that this is intended as a battery MAINTAINER; and while it is not specifically for charging 'dead' batteries, it will do so, if you give it enough time. It takes 3 or 4 days to do it, but it will get the job done. I used it on my Dodge Neon's dead battery; car wouldn't turn over (just clicked) so instead of having to take the battery out of the car and put it on a faster charger, I just used the alligator clamps and my Battery Tender. It worked like a charm, took about 4 days to get it charged back up but since then it has been working just fine (and the battery in question is from 2010...). I have since installed a ring terminal harness and maintain this same battery with my Battery Tender 800.

Fa il suo lavoro egregiamente...ricordatevi di acquistare a parte un adattatore per prese americane perché non è compreso nel kit, mal di poco con pochi euro si trovano in tutti i negozi di elettronica o da un elettricista di fiducia. Consiglio vivamente l'acquisto a chi come me usa la moto solo nel periodo estivo.
