Remove the blade before going to the airport!

I liked this razor for many reasons. It reminded me of the Ghellete safety razor I have that after 20 years has worn out . It took 3 tries to find a razor like it . It works well and the tuning of the gauge is ok . It's only problem is the adjustment gauge is lose . For the money I payed it should have clicked to each digit setting not move easily on it's own . Once the settings is dealt with it glided over my skin with ease And took care of the beard quickly. Fix the gauge adjustment ,and the price and I give a 5 star .

I think the razor is great It's just great and it's cheap razor blades are very cheap

The build quality is good and it is easy to swap blades when the time comes. However, the blade adjuster needs work. I find it very difficult to adjust the blade, as it sticks badly enough it took a pair of pliers to loosen it up, only to have it stick again. Luckily, you can just find a decent spot and leave it there ... I just hate it was so hard to find the sweet spot with the need for tools to adjust it.

This adjustable is a Weishi adjustable, just a few dollars cheaper. The highest two settings have over one millimeter blade gap. Even the lower settings are aggressive. This thing is a potato peeler for your skin. I'm not saying it's a bad razor, on the contrary it's a great aggressive shaver, you just better be experienced using a double edge razor.

[edited for clarity] As others have noted, operation and adjustment are glitchy. For example, to insert or replace the blade, one has to adjust the gap to “max.” But, to adjust the gap, one ALSO has to slightly open the blade chamber. Weight is nice and the long handle is a plus. BUT - better off getting a pricier German razor. The actual shave is adequate, but only on mid-to-lower settings. Not a fan, in sum. Addition, October 2024: I've been experimenting with this razor some weeks now and noted a very glaring difference between the "better" German brand and this razor. Namely, the angle between the comb and the blade itself (NOT the gap, which is adjustable with some fussing around with the glitchy mechanism I explained above. I mean the attack angle created by the comb and blade). It seems, no matter what I do with this razor, I get tiny nicks. In comparing this razor to the more expensive German razor, I noted the design of the German razor is such that grabbing, pulling, and shearing a bit of skin is much less likely compared to THIS razor (which, I am fairly sure, could take a small bite out of me in my sleep!). I've concluded the issue I (and others) report has to do with that attack angle letting the razor double as a super-thin-slice meat cutter. I revised my review down to one star: I do not recommend purchasing this razor.
