As it's already mentioned this is not sealed and first filter I got was with scratches and possibly was a used item. I returned and requested replacement. Second one arrived also not sealed but it good shape and potentially never used. I filled spa with it and water is crystal clear. However, be very careful with it. The shell of filter is very brittle. I accidentally dropped it on concrete when detaching hose. As result inlet port came off and crack developed on main body. I was able to 3D print a flange for that portion and connected everything back together. This should work for remaining filter lifespan. But never drop it in hard surface! 4 stars just but that brittle ABS it's made from.

I've never used one of these before but recently replaced our hot tub and thought I'd try it out. I am so very happy with the results. The cleanest feeling water I've ever used. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can try cleaning the window sand washing the cars. The only down side is that the filter only has threads on the inlet side. If it were threaded on both inlet & outlet I could attach it my pressure washer. Overall, very happy with the filter.

I normally don’t write reviews, but I felt that i had to for these filters. I had purchased one of these previously to use on filling our hot tub, and it apparently worked awesome, so when it came time to fill our pool, I figured why not let’s get a couple more for that. I purposely bought these based off the specs stating that the filtration will eliminate iron, and since we have well water I wanted to eliminate as much sediment and contaminates from the water as possible so that we wouldn’t have to do the barrage of chemicals. I was sorely mistaken; the pool currently had a yellow tinge to it from the iron, and after having the water tested at a local pool supply store it was determined that iron, calcium, and particulates were higher than should be. I’m very disappointed and will definitely buy the filters I’ve used before from the local pool supply store because I never had an issue with those before.

We purchased this filter to use with our new foot spa, takes just seconds to connect the filter to our hose attachment in our utility room, fill the spa, remove from hose and let the filter air dry vertically (we just stand it up in the drain of the sink for a few hours until dry) then it’s ready to use again the next time. All in all the filter has made a tremendous difference in the amount of salts/teas we need to add to the foot spa per soak, based on the anticipated usage the manufacturer sets for actual pool/hot tub fills, I’m predicting this filter will outlast our latest foot spa purchase!!!

First time ever filling hot tub. Be sure to following instructions run water through first because the first flow definitely shows the charcoal in the filtration. The flow rate was better than expected and the tub filled quickly. Would buy again.

This item was not factory sealed. I believe someone returned this item previously and refilled it with laundry soap.After using this product the water was extremely cloudy. When the pump ran there was 4 inches of foam.I had to drain and refill my hot tub.

I have bought other products on Amazon for a hot tub and you have to use a lot of them and at best they work somewhat I ordered these products and you use far less and the results are superior to anything I have used in our hot tub!!!!!!I bought the pH increaser the defoamer and a clarifier and I would absolutely pay double what they charge now to get the same product for my hot tub

Chlorine dissipates quickly and doesn’t seem to last long. In order to use this in a pool, you need to dissolve it in warm water to activate it, then put it in the pool. I switched to a new brand and it seems I can go an extra day or two without adding chlorine. Decent value, not the best.
