The Mom Test is a quick, practical guide that will save you time, money, and heartbreak. They say you shouldn't ask your mom whether your business is a good idea, because she loves you and will lie to you. This is technically true, but it misses the point. You shouldn't ask anyone if your business is a good idea. It's a bad question and everyone will lie to you at least a little . As a matter of fact, it's not their responsibility to tell you the truth. It's your responsibility to find it and it's worth doing right . Talking to customers is one of the foundational skills of both Customer Development and Lean Startup. We all know we're supposed to do it, but nobody seems willing to admit that it's easy to screw up and hard to do right. This book is going to show you how customer conversations go wrong and how you can do better. Review: AMAZING BOOK - This is a must read. I've read a lot of books out there on research and customer validation and whatnot. But this is a 3.5 hour goldmine perfect for startup founders. If you're the kind of person who usually gets an idea to turn into a startup (mostly a product startup) definitely read this book. Review: Great book for idea validation and refinement - Recommends a good framework for consumer research and helps validate startup ideas and also refine them before spending time, money and effort

Great book, Must Read !
This book busts your myth right from the start, It tells us how we keep seeking polite opinions and buttered compliments instead of genuine feedback by asking leading questions, talking about future not the past and behavioral insights and divulging our idea and intent too early. And then it builds on these concepts and tells us how we can have better conversations!

Short, simple, and to the point
I really liked this book. It covers the topic in a very clear and practical way. The author explains the concept without unnecessary theory, which makes it easy to understand and apply. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn how to talk to customers and validate business ideas.

Great Insights
This book covers various things like how to approach customers. What are the points to keep in mind while making a conversation with the customer, also explains how to not fall for compliments blindly, and try to collect facts from the conversation and conclude with an actionable next step.

Practical way of addressing an important issue
It’s easy to miss what it means by “talk to a customer”. The Mom Test nails it by enumerating easy to follow thumb-rules that’ll make life of a Founder way easy! Of course there are other challenges in front of the Founder, but this one is made easy, thanks to the Mom Test!

A bit boring but critical concepts to understand by a startup founder
This book shares a lot of critical concepts. However, these concepts are already shared somewhere by the authors, but this author presented them in a different style and tone that enhanced the size of the book at least four times. I usually like small and simple books. Unfortunately, this book contains a lot of devious stuff that unnecessarily distracts us from the mainstream. Moreover, there is a content variation between audiobooks in audible and e-book formats at Amazon Kindle. Though there are some flaws in it, I give four stars to it depending on the value it shares in listening to it intently without being boring.

Essential reading for anyone with a business or the desire to begin one. Excellent, quick read.
I bought this book as it had been recommended to me over the course of an entrepreneur's course and every single mentor insisted we all read it. They were not kidding - it is full of excellent, practical and valuable insights and information that will fundamentally change how you approach getting to know your customers and building effective and relevant businesses. An excellent and easy, quick read.
