It works really well
It fits perfectly on the cup holder. Not too noisy. It works really well. I recommend. It feels like a sturdy product.

It whines and it whistles but it does the job!
This Tripp Lite inverter does the job, even though it will whine and whistle. I tested it with at my office with a 244 watt load from three pedestal fans in fast speed each, and it manages them well from a car battery. I even used this at an extreme camp we had for youth at our church at an outdoor camp at piece of land without electrical power. The real test was with a Viewsonic 1500 lumens proyector and a Fender 15 watt guitar amp. It was able to manage both perfectly with a Roadpro 12V Battery Clip-On and Cigarette Lighter Adapter and a RoadPro RP-203EC 12V 12' Extension Cord with Cigarette Lighter Plug from a Nissan Pathfinder battery. The only downside was that an hour long movie drained the battery, and I had to change it during the event and jump start that battery after the event, but nonetheless, it is an outstanding inverter. Watch out for DIY cheap cabling and risk of fire, etc.!If you are planning on having a big loads from an inverter I recommend the TrippLite workhorse inverter line the APS line, such as the Tripp Lite APS750 Inverter. I have a TrippLite APS1012 at home for my off-grid setup (I am off-grid only when power outages come and they do frequently in the Dominican Republic). But these APS inverters require a different installation.

Dependable
I purchased this item in July of 2013. I have waited to review this item, because a expeditious review right after you receive an item can be misleading. There hasn't been sufficient time to really test and write an accurate review of the product, because one hasn't really used it to see how long it lasts or performs. If you are looking to buy this product, I would suggest that you buy it. If it fits the requirements of what you need, then go for it. I have had this product since 2013 and I have not experience any issues. It remains in my car year round in extreme heat and cold, and it has never malfunctioned. I initially used it to power a printer in my car, but have since changed to using it to power a laptop. My work shifts of 10 hours and it functions flawlessly during my entire shift. I often charge my laptop and my cell phone simultaneously, with no issues. I like the feature where if it is going to be over powered then it shuts itself off to preserve the inverter, preventing damage ( I don't know all the technical electrical terms).Bottom line is, this product works and has worked great since 2013. It has powered multiple things at once with no issues. I would suggest this product to anyone who is looking at it, if it meets your needs.

Compact, good quality
This review is for the 150w red model.I was looking for a nice quiet inverter so I could charge my laptop in my car and this worked perfectly. The fuse is easy to replace if it ever blew and this model doesn't have/need a fan for cooling which makes it quiet. The enclosure is metal and acts like a big heat sink so you want to make sure it's not packed away in your glove box or something while you're using it. It doesn't get very warm though so you can put it on the carpet on the floor without any worry. This model WILL shut itself off during heavy battery draw (such as cranking the engine over) so expect to hear a high pitched squeal if you have it plugged in and on when that happens. Simply flipping the switch on and off will turn the unit on again.Overall it's a great low wattage solution for charging your small laptop or ipad from 12v.

Great unit for the price, with a few minor drawbacks.
I've owned many 12v inverters over the years, and this is a very nice unit. The unit appears to be well designed and the build quality is better than average, especially at this price point.I especially like the user replaceable fuse and the thick gauge DC cabling. This unit has been the only one I have been able to run in my car, power a laptop charger (approx 85 watts) and not have the low battery alarm sound if the engine is turned off.The main con with this unit is that it is not able to produce its maximum output power when connected to the lighter socket. This is a problem, because the lighter socket cord is permanently attached to the unit. The lighter sockets on most vehicles are fused at 15A or 20A (180w or 240w), where this unit claims it is capable of 375 watts. The only way I can see to obtain that output would be to cut off the lighter plug and add battery clamps for connection directly to the vehicle battery. This isn't really a problem, but I wish the unit had been designed to take either the lighter socket cord or a direct connection to the battery. Finally, the fan is noisier than most inverters I've had in the past and it runs constantly when the device is turned on. This is a minor issue, but I suspect it may annoy others.Brett.

burned up in a sizzling cloud of smoke and light
Had used about 5 times (really only 3 uses for only a few hours and 2 <30 second tests), 3 of which were to power a 35 watt heating pad in the car for my dog, 1 to test with 2 strings of 60w LED lights. Upon plugging in the second set, the LEDs of the first string noticeably dimmed and the inverter fan sounded taxed....which to note it is annoyingly loud and on at all times. I tried it for the 5th time with a total of 180 watts of LED lights and it seemed even more unhappy and when I plugged in another 80 watt LED light, it made an awful noise, sparked and sent up a poof of smoke. Am pretty sure it would have caught on fire if I hadn't been right there to unplug it, meanwhile no alarm, no shut off and the fust is still intact so after letting it cool down I plugged it back in and turned it on with no load and it did the same thing again. Trash.

Good product
This worked great to power a Powered 10" loudspeaker. Hooked it up to the tractor battery to use on our farm for a small PA system (Mic and powered speaker) for our Open house day. I'm sure it would power a small audio mixer plus the amped speaker as long as you weren't pushing too much low frequency with a band or loud DJ music for extended periods. Hard to tell if the individual outlet power is 400 watts, or the combined output of all the outlets is 400w. I suspect the latter, but in my case, it was enough regardless.

Works great
Does the job perfectly. Keep in mind that your vehicle outlet will only allow 150w so if you need to get the full wattage, you must connect directly to the battery and cable are not included on this unit to do so.

Works great. Be sure to fuse appropriately and use 16 awg wire if you want to hot wire it to your car fuse box.
