smallest locking grease coupler
After tired replacing my grease gun coupler many times with generic non-locking grease couplers (the claws eventually got loose after so many cartridges), I decided to get a locking one, and I knew I want the smallest I could get because of tight space, this coupler works perfectly for my job. Many people who don't know how to use it gave bad reviews, well that's understandable because: Need to loosen it up first - When still new, the coupler is very stiff and can 'bind' to your grease fitting unable to release even after I tried the tips from someone below, after some 'percussion maintenance' and swinged it back and forth, the coupler started to loose up. After it has loosen up, the operation is very smooth, I'm now able to release it every time. I suggest you do this first with a grease fitting that has lots of space and easy to reach, you only need to do it once. I think it's because it has complex locking mechanism unlike locking coupler from other brands. Another quirk is, the orange o-ring I think is only for indicator, it detached easily, useless, I don't bother to put it back, they should just omit the o-ring and use laser engraving instead.

So far, so great!
I manage an environmental business. I also happen to be the resident diesel mechanic and maintenance tech. Twice a week I grease: 3 track hoes, a skid steer, a Komptech industrial grinder, 3 dump trucks, and 2 30,000 lbs tri-axle trailers. I've only put a few tubes of grease with this coupler... since I just got it two days ago. This thing is awesome! I had been using a Lu-Max. It was decent, but would leak if you let go of it. The MacNaught takes a little getting used to. Sometimes I have to "double clutch" it. But, it locks on very snug, and hasn't leaked once. Yet, anyway. But, all the other locking coupler I used will leak some... right out of the box. I love the thing. And it's very well built. All metal construction. And even though the Lu-Max would fit every recess that I have tried... the MacNaught is even thinner, so I can't imagine that I'll find a zirk that I can't access. Time will tell about durability. But it does havea 2 year warranty. I highly recommend.

Two new, out of the box, defective
I purchased two of these within the past two weeks and both came out of the box inoperable. First one I pressed on to a driveshaft zerk and would not come off. It would not release because the mechanism was busted. I was desperate to find a narrow, easy to attach/release grease fitting so took a chance and bought another one thinking maybe I was just unlucky. Nope. 2nd new McNaught unit, out of the box, pulling on the catch and release action handle did nothing. It, too, was defective. A complete time and money waste. Now I have to chase after Amazon to refund me my expedited shipping per McNaught's customer service. Thanks for nothing!

It's just OK
I was hoping for more. I do a lot of greasing of farm implements and it's hard to attach to the fitting and hard to remove. I will say, once attached to the fitting, it don't leak grease but getting it seated on a fitting can be somewhat tedious.. I grease a lot of recessed fittings so the LNL won't work as the barrel is too large in diameter to access a recessed fitting (why I bought this one), but with the difficulties encountered, I've went back to mu old standby Lincoln standard push on grease coupler. Not going to return it, I'll keep it for a spare but it is hard to use for a task that should be very simple.

WOW!! What a fantastic grease nipple!
You won't be sorry to have one of these, what a relief it is to use. I use a cordless grease gun on my equipment and after watching a bunch of YouTube videos and reading most all the comments on Amazon for the USA, Canadian, Chinese, and this Australian made quick connect grease gun fitting I went with the Aussies. What a well thought out product. It is smaller in diameter than the almost all of the quick connects, maybe the more expensive Canadian made one is about the same diameter but the rest are larger to quite larger. I like the positive action of this one. Cock it to push on, cock it to pull off. Great. Takes a minute to reprogram your muscle memory, but you will get used to it quickly and love its ease of use. Seems to be well made and I feel I can trust the Aussies to not compromise on material qualities or heat-treating processes as is so commonly a problem with import tools. I'm sure the USA and Canadian made products are first rate in material quality but I believe this is a superior design and its slimmer head was a deal maker for me. P.S. I would ignore the other review commenting about it being difficult to use, this thing isn't a rocket ship, it is just pull the plunger and push on a fitting, pull the plunger and pull off the fitting. How simple. If you don't pull the plunger and cock it, you can't push it on a fitting, nor once on, remove it. I locks on until you recock it by pulling the plunger. Great and simple design. Brilliant innovative solution.

Smaller than Lock and Lube but finnicky
Got it because the Lock and Lube doesn't fit a few recessed spots on my loader. This one fits but it tends to hang up and be weird to get it to release. Still better than a standard grease fitting, but not as good as Lock and Lube unless you have clearance issues.

Great Product!
I have tried quite a few different grease gun fittings and this is the best so far. It doesn't like plastic caps that protect Zerks so if you must use the caps skip this grease gun nozzle. If you can deal with this minor issue this grease gun nozzle is great. Greasing is a messy job so anything that makes it easier, more secure, and less messy get's my vote. Take the time to learn the unique lock/unlock sequence and you will find this nozzle quick to use , has a very secure grip on the Zerk, and releases with ease.

Connect problems
Difficult to connect and does not stay connected on many of the grease fittings on my machine. Not sure why. I push in on and if just falls off the fitting. Very disappointed because it was more expensive than many other options that I saw on Amazon.
