Like other reviewers who have purchased this underwear, I suffer extremely heavy periods. Living in a house of boys and men and having this uncomfortable issue, it is difficult to retain ones dignity when dashing to the loo after a particularly heavy loss. Not to be indelicate, but early mornings were a nightmare. I usually have a 20 second window in which to reach the bathroom before the flood gates open and I am left in mortification outside the one toilet in our house, because it is occupied by a teenager primping his pimples.To be honest (and I'll admit to being a bit slow on the up take), I didn't realise such underwear existed. I was still very much under the impression that us women had to suffer our lot. It was my husband that urged me to try to find something to save my dignity and I am so glad that I discovered what I call, my bamboo pants.On the strength of reviews I purchased a size 14. My usual size being 12. I sent my order mid evening and was delighted when then arrived early the following day.They fit like a dream and although they have a slight rustle in the hand, once on and acclimatised to my body temperature, they are just like every other piece of underwear. Except better.These do not leak. Not when I'm walking, running, doing yoga, riding my bike or laying down clutching my tummy because it's a particularly bad month. They do not stain. They rinse well too and they are lovely and comfortable to boot.I've seen that some people have said they feel slightly hot or sweaty in them, but speaking for myself I can only say this was not the case for me. I love these pants. After years of suffering and several ruined mattresses (not to mention underwear and clothing) I have found something that makes everything that much easier. I am going to be buying more.

I've just ordered a third set of these, having bought the originals back in 2018, and I can't recommend them enough. They have gone up in price a bit since I originally bought them, but given how effective and long lasting they are I've continued buying them as I would be worried that another brand would disappoint.You absolutely have to continue wearing a pad, or tampon, or mooncup with these as they will not be sufficient without. However, they are a lifesaver when I have my period and have saved many pairs of jeans/pyjama bottoms/bedsheets during heavy days and nights. I wish I had discovered these many years ago, as they give a real sense of security not to mention comfort when you really need it.Sizewise, I have ordered my normal size and find that they fit fine. Highly recommend these, although I do hope the price doesn't increase anymore. I also wish it was cheaper to buy quite a few pairs as opposed to just three, although the price/availability of sets depend on your size I think (also not ideal!).

Never tried these before biut glad it did. Yes they "rustle" a bit but once on they are very comfortable and have good coverage. Not brilliant for very heavy days but wearing a tampon at the same time makes a big difference. The wash brilliantly and you can swill them beforehand.

These are a must for anyone who has irregular or heavy periods, or even for normal periods first day flows. For anyone who lives in a constant paranoia of leaking not just in bed but generally anywhere you might sit down, and for anyone who is fed up of buying underwear as period leaks have destroyed any normal panties on a consistent basis.I bought these out of sheer desperation, I was having long heavy periods, my flow was unpredictable and I was pretty much embarrassed and unable to even consider anything social as regardless of how often I changed my pads I would without fail leak.The fit is bigger than normal, they do sit fairly high waisted, but are nothing crazier than your average huge ugly granny period panty. The material reminds me of something between normal underwear and swimsuit material. The actual area where the pad usually goes is much thicker, this goes around and over the butt area which is what prevents any leaks from happening. They wash really well, so far after 3 months of use Ive not had a period leak that went beyond me my pad and my underwear. TMI. Yeah. Sorry. Buy these.

Not happy with these. There are days when I am out of the house long hours so I got a pair for some extra security. I usually wear tampons but sometimes they leak and I thought with these I wouldn't have to worry about my clothes getting dirty. Well, I was wrong. They leaked, especially the sides and as luck would have it, I was sitting on a beige leather office chair. I was shocked and so embarrassed to see what I had done but I was at least able to get the blood stain out of the chair without anyone knowing. Since then they have leaked again and again but not to that extent. The middle part is ok but they leak sideways. Also they don't wash well. They have great big stains after the wash but I still wear them until I find a replacement. I really dont want to go back to using pads for extra safety. Comfort wise, they are soft but tent to cause a lot of sweat in the area and often they smell badly because of that. Not pleased at all. Forgot to say that when there is a leak, it feels like I am wearing something really wet so a real cringe moment. At home it's easy to put on my other pair but when I am out I have to suck it up and continue to feel wet until I go back. I am happy I didn't buy more.

These are great to wear in bed if you are not on a heavy period. I also wear them when I am due. They are not suitable for an average flow without other protection. To be fair, at the lower end of the market these are great and I think a teenager would love the confidence of wearing them. They are not bulky like some other brands.

Schon beim Auspacken hat sich die Unterwäsche wie Plastik angefühlt. Bei der hauchdünnen Einlage kann ich mir auch nicht vorstellen, dass sie Flüssigkeit aufnehmen könnte. Aufgrund des lauten Knisterns bei jedem Schritt den man tut, kommt ein Tragen für mich nicht in Frage.

I have been wanting to try "period panties" for years because I have been trying to simplify my life to include mainly things that are practical for me and reduce my waste. I waited a couple cycles of use before writing this review. These panties are full coverage for me. For reference, I wear a size 6 in Old Navy and size 8-10 in everything else. I have lots of butt and thighs. I ordered the XL size in these panties and they are not tight and do not give me wedgies throughout the day. They come up about midrise for me and I'm slightly overweight with mom pooch from multiple kids. The actual panties are soft to touch and soft against the skin. The bamboo protection area comes up about a few inches from the top hem in the front and goes all the way up to the top hem of the panties in the back. There is a slight swishing noise at first (like a tiny windbreaker) but it seems to go away after a couple of washes. Since "heavy" is subjective, I will just explain my usage of pads and these panties. I typically use the "super" and "long" pads with "wings" when "Aunt Flo" visits. I used to change them every 2-3 hours and one change overnight for the first two days. Accidents on the sides, the front or the back happened about once at the beginning of every cycle if i didn't place the pad just right. Then my flow would decrease for the rest of the time.I tried these panties with no pads to see how effective they are. For the first two days, I changed them every 3-4 hours when I used the restroom and one change overnight. After that, I did not have to change them as often. I did, though, to be sanitary. Honestly, throughout my cycle they could have stayed on longer but I did not want to put them back on after using the restroom. Also, I have had no accidents or leaks when using these panties.I rinse them in the sink in cold water and I keep a bottle of lavender castile soap near the sink to use for handwashing them. I also keep a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide for first aid and it helps to keep these clean. For public restroom use, a woman could purchase those wet bags for cloth diapers or swimwear and throw the used panties in there to rinse out in the privacy of her home. Rinsing is super easy, just need to keep rubbing together under cold water until the water is clear. Sometimes a soak is necessary before scrubbing. I have handwashed and hang dried. I have handwashed and put into the dryer. And I have also just rinsed, sprayed with peroxide and thrown them in with my regular dark clothes in the regular washer and dryer. None of the processes have changed the performance of these panties. And all have resulted in the panties staying soft against the skin. I have purchased another pack of these so that I don't have to handwash as often. I don't plan to go back to sanitary napkins ever again! I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Very practical. Such a small investment for a huge return in my life!
