Great battery. Was skeptical at first.
These batteries have an excellent runtime. The quality on these batteries is fantastic. The overheat protection is a great addition to these newer batteries I’ve had plenty of other brand batteries go bad because they do not shut down when overheating.

Battery for power tool already bought and delivered seems fine. Delivered great, battery is slightly precharged. As soon as battery charger and 2 nd battery arrives from Amazon, I will finish charging it and try it. Can’t wait to use new power tool

Metabo HPT is the GOAT💪
These are genuine metabo 4/8ah batteries. When you use them In a 18v tool youd have a hard time using all the battery in a day even as a pro like me. I use them in power hungry metabo 4000 lumen work lights on medium brightness for 8 hours and they still have some battery left at the end of the day.

I Was Wrong!
UPDATE: My initial review was five star but, after only a little over a year, and less than 20 minutes of use, I'm now only able to get less than a minute of runtime using this battery before it stops working yet, it charges within a matter of seconds when placed back in the charger. Fully charged, this battery only shows 20 volts using a multimeter. I sent an email to Metabo support two weeks ago but, unfortunately, I haven't received a response. The battery that came with my SDS Plus rotary hammer drill is also exhibiting the same degradation. I have 30-year old 19 volt Craftsman batteries that are still going strong so, this has me questioning my decision to continue purchasing Metabo tools, especially cordless ones. I have a 36 volt SDS Plus rotary hammer drill and was using it to remove some cement but, after 30 minutes of some drilling and chipping the original, fully charged battery depleted. Since I have other Metabo cordless tools I thought I should buy a replacement to have on hand. (Old review) So far, I've been very impressed with all of the Hitachi and Metabo products I've purchased in the past and would certainly recommend them to anyone needing quality, affordable corded and cordless power tools.
