Terrific problem solver
I had previously used HDMI/optical splitters, but I had a more difficult problem this time around: My expensive 11.2 channel receiver's HDMI out ports had been killed by a power surge. Audio still works fine. Needed to get an HDMI signal to my projector while still getting a HDMI with advanced audio formats (Dolby Digital Plus / Atmos) to the receiver. The U9 box did exactly that. Attached the HDMI output from a Roku Express 4K to the U9 box input, Out 1 to the AVR, and Out 2 to the projector. U9's switch set to "Out 1" (although I suspect Auto would have worked as well). Eureka! Great picture to the projector, and the receiver sees the correct signal from the U9 to allow it to automatically switch to the correct sound mode. Repairing the HDMI out on the receiver would have been $800, minimum (been there, done that), plus the roundtrip to a service center. This was a $30 solution.

Downscales as advertised
I have a wireless HDMI extender unit that only does 1080P output and bought this unit to take a 4K source (a Tivo Edge) and split it to a 4K home theater receiver and to 1080P for my wireless HDMI extender. This works like a charm for this use case. The signal to the receiver (the main HDMI output on the splitter) is still 4K and the signal to my HDMI extender (the second HDMI output on the splitter) is 1080P as I needed. I honestly can't comment on whether all audio is being passed properly or ARC works, but as a splitter with downscaling, it does work. So far, I am happy I was able to find a solution to my needs with this device.

Works well
So far works really well. A 4K and old computer monitor at 1080p, both receiving the same signal to play music from a streaming player. I docked a point for the forced barrel jack and AC adapter. There is some line buzz with it, but the input is just 5V 1A which is a simple USB power that can be supplied from a battery bank. I had to purchase a cable from USB to barrel jack and run it this way.

Small yet mighty box!
Purchased this one compared to others was the best value for my money (in my opinion) because needed to stream video game content from my PS3(og fully backwards compatible) "there's videos on why you'll need a splitter specifically for ps3/ related consoles" once I learnt that, Connectivity from the Splitter to my gaming capture card is simple now can enjoy gaming with ease of use๐ฅน๐ฏ๐ฎ

Finally a splitter that works to send HDR/Dolby Vison to TV and full HD audio to AVR
Like many, I was dealing with an AVR that does not support all of the advanced picture modes my newer TV does (HDR, Dolby Vision, etc.). I had an older HDMI splitter that I had been using with another TV that had worked great to separate my audio and connect devices directly into my TV. However, this splitter did not support Dolby Vision. I had tried a few that claimed they did, but I could not get any of them to work correctly/consistently. I had kind of given up on it, but decided to try one more. And this is the one! As soon as I plugged it in, my NVidia Shield Pro recognized Dolby Vision was available, and I was able to activate it. So now I am able to send full 4k/60 with full HDR and Dolby Vision to my TV, and also send Dolby Atmos and DTS-X to my AVR.

Works for my needs. Used to split signals 4k & 1080p
After upgrading to a 4K TV and FIOS One (which supports 4k), I noticed I couldn't select 2160p (4k) on the FIOS One. Realizing my Slingbox was preventing it, I bought this to split my HDMi, one 4K and the other 1080p. Although the TV now was getting the 4K from the FIOS One, the Slingbox still didn't work and I found that the encryption was preventing it. So another box now converts the HDMI to Component. If its not one thing, its another. But this box works as advertised and I'm a happy camper.

Didn't do what I bought it for
I bought it to split the HDMI signal from my nVidia Shield to go to a 4k TV and to an older receiver, but have high quality audio. The video was great, but the audio kept cutting out - I'm assuming because of too much transcoding or something. A chip was just probably getting too hot or something.
