Absolutely love these lips. For the longest time. I used nothing but the metal lids that came with these jars but dealing with the separate pieces was always a bit of a pain. Having these lids you just be able to screw on have given us a lot more use out of the jars than usual.

I wanted to use some small Ball jars for making vinaigrette salad dressing. Did not want to bother with the 2-piece lids that came with the jars. These are perfect. They can go in the dishwasher and they are leak-proof, which is great because I don't want leaks when I'm shaking up the dressing.

They seal perfectly.

The original can lids were ugly and rusty. These fit snug and are great.

I really like these lids! After a few years with the original lids, they were getting rusty and a bit out of shape. I came to Amazon to get replacements and found several options. These (and other) plastic lids caught my attention. This item with the Ball logo was more expensive but they have a higher quality look and I like the dark gray color. They arrived quickly and the quality is as good in hand as in the pictures. I wasn’t interested in a variety of colors so the dark gray is fine. I make spaghetti sauce at home periodically from my Italian grandmother’s recipe (captured by my mom one time - measuring everything my grandmother used to make her sauce - she was a great cook and added ingredients based on continuous tasting) In any case, we produce a large quantity of acidic tomato sauce and store it in mason jars. Over time the sauce has pitted the original 2 piece lids and they have rusted. I replaced them with these. Time will tell, but they don’t leak, and it says you can freeze them. The only concern I have is that they say “not for preserving”. So there is something these don’t do that the original two part lids did. I don’t “preserve” the sauce - so I think these will be ok - but if you rely on your jars for preserving, then these apparently won’t work for that. This is the only reason for dropping one star in my review.

Work well I really prefer these over the old sealed lids. I only use these for salad dressing and dry contents I don’t know if you can use these for canning.
