They come with a lifetime warranty. I must add I would recommend them....very clear sharp image and feel robust. Very pleased with them

Do these binoculars have a lock on the diopter focusing

No there is no lock, just a marker on the diopter ring and on the binocular body.

8x42 or 12x50 which would you recommend

I did quite a bit of research on this when I was buying some binoculars for my wife who was interested in doing some bird watching. From all the online research an d watching a number of YouTube postings the conclusion I came to was it all depends on what you want to use them for. The 8x42 will have less ‘shake’ when held in the hand and therefore be clearer. However, the 12x50 will get a closer picture if you are resting on something to steady your hand. I went for the 8x42, really good and easy to use. Perfect for bird watching.
