3 out of 4 leaked. Easy fix.
Tested with water. Even though they leaked it's easy to fix. All you need to do is get some 150grit sandpaper and a block of wood. Sand the top of the fuel can until flat and smooth (no gouges). The o-ring on the lid will then make a good seal. Took about 10 minutes per can. Good luck hope that this helps someone.

Terrible Quality, Incredibly Disappointing Product
These fuel containers have come apart at the bottom where the 2 halves come together during the manufacturing process. I can confidently say that these are the worst fuel containers I have ever purchased and I truly recommend that you look elsewhere. I came home to a disaster in my home garage today where the smell of gas fumes was tremendous and when I went to inspect the jugs, they were leaking from the bottom. The seam came apart and all of my expensive 110 racing fuel was on the floor evaporating. I have submitted a warranty claim and I will let you know what happens from here.Update 5/30/1018: I have to give a huge thanks to Rugged Z Trading for their offer to refund my purchase. I cannot say the same for VP Racing as I have been getting the runaround from their customer service department. I sent detailed pictures as well as a detailed explanation of what occurred and I even offered to send back the jugs for their inspection. I was told that this all has to be reviewed and that a decision has not been made. What decision has to be made? These are supposed to have a 3 year guarantee and they are garbage. My $12 Walmart gas jug is still in fine shape after 5 years and I incorrectly thought that paying more for these jugs would mean better quality. That was a terrible assumption on my part. These are of very poor quality.

Jugs don't seal, have 70 gallons of fuel I cannot use
This is honestly probably one of my worst Amazon purchases ever. I bought these jugs hoping to keep some E-85 on hand for my vehicle as there aren't many stations around. However, the caps to the jugs don't seal completely so attempting to pour fuel out of them through the hose results in fuel coming out from under the cap and getting everywhere.Admittedly, I probably should have tested with water before filling them up with fuel, but I had put my faith in the company. Bad decision on my part.Since the caps don't seal the E-85 has absorbed moisture out of the air, meaning I now have 70 gallons of fuel that not only can I not pour, but that also contains 8-9% water. Don't want that going into my tank or engine.I'm now left with a big financial hit (the useless jugs and the now-useless fuel) and a big environmental cleanup problem. If you do read this and STILL want to get these jugs, then do yourself a favor and THOROUGHLY test them with water before ever using them with anything else. Try pouring water out of the hoses, try having the jugs at all angles, on their sides, upside down, etc. If they leak you can try to fix it by sanding (as some people suggest) or better yet, just get your money back and buy some quality fuel jugs.

Initial build quality POOR
I ordered 8 of these. As others have stated the caps are not the greatest and I experienced a leak. Tightening down the red inner plastic threaded plug is impossible as there is no stop built into the cap. You have to hope that your friction fit is good enough. 3 out of 8 of mine were not acceptable. The bottom seams on all jugs look like a child went over the bottom seam with a soldering iron. I would never put E85 in them. Mine will store pure gas and will see how they work out. I am not hopeful. Can not in good conscience recommend. Good ideas... poorly implement. Wish I would have spent more for a better can.

Quality cans at affordable price and no PITA EPA spouts.
Quality cans that can be used for a variety of things from liquids to dry goods. Sold as fuel cans but can be used for storing feed or anything else really.Opening is large enough to make filling easy with dry or liquids. Can is tall enough that when filling with fuel bending down to hold fuel nozzle in can isn't necessary for me.Sold as a 5 gallon capacity but will hold a bit over 6 gallons. If filling it that much with liquid then the liquid level may be above the vent when trying to pour from the can using the spout. This will cause a large leaking mess. This is not a problem unless the can is almost completely full tho.Vent is easy to use and seals well when closed. It is a threaded type with a gasket seal so none of the annoying snap button style that was prone to breaking off and getting lost on cans from a decade or so ago. Has an attached strap to keep vent lid with can but in my experience the vent does not have to be completely removed to function well, just unscrew it a few turns and it provides enough air flow for pouring.Large lid is O-ring sealed and has a pipe thread plug in center that can be left in if using for dry good storage or transport of liquid. Plug in center of large lid does not seal perfectly on its own in the event of jug getting knocked over but it is a very minor leak. You may wish to apply a thread sealer if you want to make sure it does not leak at all, just make sure whatever you use is compatible with whatever is in the jug. The plug itself is easy to remove or install and has a 1/2 inch square drive opening to facilitate in tightening or removing. I use a 1/2 inch drive extension and get it hand tight. The spout tube is ok. I like the clear tubing as it allows you to see the flow of liquid and the screen in the spout is a nice touch I guess as it could prevent some contaminants from getting into whatever you are filling. The tube is fairly long which is a blessing and a curse. It will allow you to reach some things that a typical gas can will not with their shorter, mostly non-flexible spout. But it can also force you to be further away from what you are filling and that can sometimes make it difficult to see if what you are filling is full without it overflowing. The spout tube is very flexible but i suggest buying the 'benders' that hold a curve in the house without kinks to make using a full can easier. You can do without the bender if you want but it helps when using a full can and they are cheap enough. The price of these is comparable to the price of 'standard' fuel cans found in most stores and IMO these are much better.

Not as good as they used to be! Horrible
Over the past few years I have bought and re-bought these amazing gas cans. But the last time I bought some every single one of them leaked horribly. There is a definite noticeable difference and even the plastic used. I will call VP racing to complain. Can't have gas leaking everywhere not worth my life. And at this price they should never league!!!!!
