Lexar NS100 2.5” SATA III 6Gb/s Internal 1TB SSD, Solid State Drive, Up To 550MB/s Read, for Laptop, Desktop Computer/PC (LNS100-1TRB)

I bought this to replace my old, slow and noisy mechanical HDD which seemed to be giving up the ghost. I was a bit sceptical whether this SSD would make any difference at all to my PC but I need not have worried. Installed easily and luckily did not have to mess about with the Bios, the PC did it all for me. The difference is unbelievable. It boots up in no time at all and loads programs so fast it's like having a new PC! This has to be the best £35 I've spent in a long while. I can't rate 'Longevity' because I've only had it three days, hence the three starts for that! Give one a go, you don't need a new PC after all.

This was a very simple install and ideal for my spare laptop. Only needed just enough storage to install Windows OS and basic programs to carry out basic tasks.I had an only sata spin drive and took ages to boot up. Being an old laptop with only 4gb ram, that's what I would expect, however the whole system performace has changed since installing this SSD.It now boots up in 5 seconds from a cold startread and write speed are fast, not done the full test yet, but when i do I will post here. Also would be unfair to post the speeds based on a slow CPU and only minimal ram, but will get round to it at some point and post here.Overall very satisfied with this, especially the price

After a few failed attempts to buy a Western digital m.2 drive ( both faulty) I decided that I'll just get a normal Ssd for storage as speed want necessary, I took a punt at the Lexar SSD and thank goodness it works flawlessly and works great with good transfer speeds. Can recommend!!

July 2025 I paid £15.00 for this drive and today May 2026 it is £50.00, WTH! Great drive but way too expensive now.

Added this to an old laptop along with and extra 8GB or RAM and the PC probably performs better than when it was new. Although there are cheaper SSDs out there, Lexar is a brand that is excellent value for money if you are on a budget. I've bought several of these when people ask me to update their PCs and so far there have been no complaints.

Slower than advertised but still dramatically speeded up an old laptop. I paid only fifteen quid so I'm worried about longevity as it seems too good to be true, but hopefully it'll be ok. I will update this review if any problems.

Lexar. My go to for SSD drives. Good quality. Does the job I need it to do. Fast & reliable. Never had a Lexar drive let me down yet. I use them in my business &. Do a lot of a SSD swaps

This drive is working very well. I installed it over a month ago & there’s been no issues.Im using several different PCs with SSD drives & this works as well as every other budget drive I’ve installed. Fast, accurate & seemly reliable.Been using SSD drives now for around 2 years. They all have completely refreshed every PC I use. Increasing speeds dramatically. Renewing my older machines.Not one SSD drive has failed.I never pay more than £30 for a 256GB. £20 for a 128GB.Solid State Drives for me are the answer & first action to sorting most slow PC.’s. More so than increasing memory.I use an 11 year old Lenovo X201 that is now fairly rapid thanks to installing a £25 SSD. Windows 10 slowed the X201 dramatically. I thought it was trash before installing a SSD.It takes hardly any time to clone & install a SSD drive. It’s relatively simple.I paid £24.99 for this 256GB drive.

The SSD looks really nice and has respectable speeds and would be a great upgrade from any Hard Disk Drive.Though I wasn't really fascinated with the packaging, but it serves it's purpose as needed.

For the price it's worth purchasing it. It's been a month now since I've purchased and installed it in my 7 year ASUS laptop and it feels like a brand new laptop. I've also upgraded the memory RAM so everything runs smooth and the bootup time is about 5 seconds. No more lags and waiting for webpage to open up. I think newer laptops and desktops should be replaced with SSD's or M.2 drives over the HDD. But...they are way more expensive. My advice for everyone....if you purchase a new laptop or desktop that still has HDD in them...replace it right away. Use the SSD for your OS and bootup time while you use your HDD as a storage drive. It's something to think about folks! POWER ON!

Affordable small drive for a older laptop HDD... I tested it, cloned the HDD and swapped it without any problems and it's work fine. It boots a little quicker and seems to be responding faster but the improvement is minimal for the old laptop running a couple of old specialized applications. All of that will be phased out by the end of the year so I don't know what it will be doing in six months!!

One of the best but sold at alibaba for 5$. But in west much more. Why not the same.
