Very impressive, not even considering the low price
I am very impressed so far. I have only had the watch for a few days, and I have only owned one other mechanical watch before. However, this watch was much more than I expected. First of all, the build looks and feels very solid. It is all metal and glass, not plastic is visible. The face has a finely screened details, not the blurry low detail mess I see on some watches. The hands are finely detailed as well, with the serpentine style adding a lot to the antique feel of this watch. I am very impressed with the appearance. The watch is aged to look like it is antique. The brass has a worn look to it. The back is textured with dark aging in the crevices, giving the feel of a piece that has been in many hands for many years. The texture even appears worn in a few places as an antique piece of brass would after being used for many years. It looks like a used but very well maintained watch. It even looks like there is a bit of oxidation at the base of the stem, just as an antique piece would have. The chain feels antique as well. The links are made of a folded piece of brass preserving the antique appearance of the watch. It has a clasp on both ends so it can be detached from the watch if desired. EDIT: the lobster claw clasp on the chain has broken; the spring came out and not it does not stay closed. I am not concerned as I didn't really use the chain anyway. As would be expected for a watch from the period this one appears to be from, there is no illumination on the dial or hands. The styling is period appropriate without being gaudy. This is a mechanical watch. I don't know what the movement is, but it is beating at 21,600 beats per hour or 6 beats per second. The two sub dials on the front are functional as well (something I wasn't expecting given the price and from the description). The left dial is a 24 hour dial, making it clear from a glance if it is morning or evening. The right dial is another second hand (it has seconds on the center and seconds on the sub dial), though the two second hands are not synchronized. Power reserve is adequate. Twenty turns of the crown (which is about all it will accept) will give it 29 hours of run time, which is standard for most mechanical watches. It is automatically winding as well. Wearing it for a day gave me another 5 hours of power. While this is not enough to power the watch on its own, I was carrying the watch in my pants pocket (that little one I never used to use) and so it didn't get as much movement as a wristwatch would get. It would be enough to carry the watch over for a little while longer if I forget to wind it in the morning. My watch looses around 26 seconds per day as measured by my time tracking app. By far not chronometer grade, but very acceptable for my purposes especially given the price. Overall, I am very impressed with this watch. It is exactly what I was looking for, a watch to go with my portable sundial/compass and sextant, all in brass and all for a nautical theme. EDIT: So I just accidentally dropped my watch. It bounced off my knee, hit a wooden chair, bounced off my desk drawers and hit the wall landing on the carpet. Not a scratch, and the watch is still ticking. I am not saying you should regularly do what I did (my heart just about stopped while this was happening) but this watch can take some abuse.

VERY IMPRESSIVE, BEAUTIFUL AND ACCURATE
I'm a collector of mechanical watches. Some are over 100 years old, and several newer ones that are inexpensive, but unique in their design. Most of the newer ones that are not self-winding have identical Chinese movements, which are somewhat lacking in accuracy and durability. That's not the case with this watch. The clockworks are surrounded by a Teflon spacer. and there is no visible manufacturer information on the clockworks. Nonetheless, nothing about this watch looks or feels cheap. the stem feels solid when winding, and smooth when setting, the watch has some weight to it due to the thick metal casing, and the crystal is made of real glass. After several weeks of constant use it hasn't lost or gained a single minute, which is rare for any but the the most expensive mechanical watches. It is advertised as being solid copper, but it appears to be brass; no complaints here. The chain clasp doesn't clip onto a belt loop, but rather hooks onto the chain itself, much like the pocket watch chains of bygone eras. If I have any premature failure of any kind then I will post an update, but as it stands now I'd be impressed with this watch it If I had paid 3 times for it what I did. UPDATE: After a year of constant winding, use, and carrying the watch works as good as new. The antique patina has grown even more attractive with time. I'm pleased to say that I would purchase this watch again; in fact, I've already bought another one as a gift for a friend. It's a beautiful and accurate time piece that I expect many years of good use out of. If you want one then my experience reflects that it's a good buy and a wonderful gift.

Rustic appearance
First watch I ordered was defective. They sent out a 2nd watch right away. This was a birthday present. It works very good. Good weight to it. Only have to wind the watch every couple of days. Nice good rustic feel and appearance. Just what I wanted for my father.

If you enjoy a good watch, purchase this one
I've not had this watch for too long yet, probably about two weeks. But I have worn it constantly, every day, since it arrived. First, the watch is accurate, gaining approximately 30 seconds per day, about standard for a mechanical pocket watch. Second, case quality: The case is surprisingly substantial, and it is finished to give it a worn, antique appearance. The crystal is not the cheap, plastic type so common on lower-priced watches, it is a good, thick glass, which does tend to scratch easily, but if the watch is placed in a pocket facing the body and not outward, that should protect it from any scratching. Third, the watch feels amazingly like a vintage pocket watch. It has a real weight to it, similar to the old American Hamiltons or the Elgins. It feels good in the hand. Fourth, there are two second hands on the watch. What surprised me is they are perfectly synced to each other. There is a 24-hour hand on it as well, but I cannot attest to its accuracy, because my aging eyes do not allow me to see it, but there are instructions included with the watch that tell you how to set it. I just didn't bother. Overall, my feeling is that $35 is a ridiculously great price for this watch. I can offer some advice, however: In reading other reviews on this watch, there were some complaints about it I would like to address, having grown up with mechanical watches and conducted minor repairs on them. A mechanical watch is probably the greatest engineering feat in history, and because of that, any mechanical pocket watch is a very delicate and precision machine. If you do not handle it carelessly and jumble it around, the hands should not fall off of it. If you wind it slowly, and gently, it should not overwind. Winding a watch is a skill that most today don't know very well. With this watch, as you wind it, it will gently spring back after each wind. Feel for that. It increases the more you wind it. If you gently wind it, you will feel when it is completely wound, because it won't wind any further. When you first wind the watch, count the number of winds you do until it does not wind anymore. On mine, it is 50 winds. So, every morning when I wind it, I stop at 49 and I do not worry that I've overwound it. Over-winding a watch will break the mainspring. If you take care of this watch and respect it as the fine, precise instrument it is, it will last you years. Buy the watch.

Quit working at 11:49 45 seconds
Expected Delivery was 17 February to 10 March. I’m so happy that it arrived today on 03 February. It is exactly as pictured. I don’t mean this in a bad way, but I do find humor in the fact that it ships from China, and on the face it says London and made in Switzerland. Honestly, that’s fine. I don’t care. I did pre-purchase a different chain. The one it came with may be ok, I really don’t know. I wanted one that I know is going to last. I’ll save the one it came with. Never know, could come in handy. I fully expect to be happy with the watch. I’ll post an update after a period of time, and check back in. 2/05/2021 So, I have been carrying the watch around for a couple of days now. I like the heavy weight of it, and its overall feel and look. Other Reviewers talk of it quitting working, or Dials breaking away, so I have been keeping an eye on it. So far so good. Seems to keep time well, and minimal winding required. Nothing more than any other watch of this type I'm sure. Seller provides a direct email if there is a problem. So, I do feel like if there is or were an issue, it would be resolved without issue. 2/09/21 My watch quit working today at 11:49 49 seconds am. It worked a total of six days. Seller wants me to pay to return it to China. As an alternative, they will ship me another product. Amazon will be no help in this scenario. Seller offered to refund me $25 and I can keep the broken watch. I called American Express. They have already refunded my full amount paid of $38.51 and I have a paper weight. 2/10/21 I would just like to add that I am truly disappointed in this watch. More so in the Sellar. It’s like they fully expected the watch to break. They know it’s impossible to return an offer you 3/4 of what you paid for it. still making money. I was going to keep it as a paperweight but I’m throwing it away. These people should not be allowed to sell on Amazon. And I will report them today.

Best Amazon purchase ever!
I have purchased a million things off Amazon since 2001. As a theatre director I have purchased or my props crew have purchased on my instructions all manner of things, for all sorts of shows, from periods in history. And in all those years this is the absolute best thing I ever got! I love it!!! It looks like it’s an antique. I collect vintage pocket watches. My collection has one or two expensive ones and some really old ones. Most of them as far back as the 1915. So I spend a lot of time, probably too much time, looking at vintage watches all over America and Great Britain. This watch looks like it came right out of 1920! A friend of mine saw it today after I unpacked it and asked me which antique store I had visited over the weekend. Everything about this is great. It arrived packaged perfectly! It works flawlessly. You can keep all the other pocket watches out there I wish I had two of these. Worth every penny! I was worried because I didn’t recognize the brand name but I loved the look so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m watch obsessed anyway, and if it’s a dud it will be in another University play. But it is not going anywhere but my pocket! And another point, the customer service is fantastic. This company offers a superior product, responds to all questions and offers contact info with the product. It’s old school customer service and respect that no one see’s anymore. If you don’t buy this watch buy any one of their other products you won’t be disappointed. And if you are, they’ll take care of you. Sometimes products just don’t work, this company knows that happens and makes it possible for you to return or exchange this item easily. Best Amazon purchase ever!!!

Nice looking, Watch keeps poor time
I did not expect too much, and I got it. This retro-look pocket watch looks very good, has a classic weight and therefore heft. This is a stem-winder and unfortunately, in the week or so I have had it, this watch loses 8.5 minutes per day on average. If you wind at a set time each day and do not mind making the corrections, this watch will work for you, and it will be a nice accessory. I remember similar discrepancies with more costly pocket watches a half-century and longer ago. I am keeping it and shall wear it with this in mind. All in all, I do not regret this purchase.

Works better than my grandfather's watch
I have 2 wind up watches from the 1800's that were passed onto me from my grandfather. Both still worked perfectly and I verified their authenticity. But, I really didn't want to carry them out of fear of breaking them or losing them. So, I found this watch listing and ordered this "cheap" watch, to carry. Well, let me tell you, this watch may be cheaply priced... But, it is NOT a bad watch! It's worth much more than I paid for it. This is such a good watch that I bought another one! Keeps time very well, and one full wind will last you at least 40hrs (both of mine do). And, they last much longer than my grandfather's watches when wound up. I don't know why some people gave this watch a negative review. I am amazingly impressed by this product and the 2 watches I currently have. I've even thought of buying a 3rd watch, so I can pass these down to my children. People that break this watch are doing something wrong... Because as long as you don't throw it around and abuse the product, it works very well. I seriously believe the negative reviews are from people that have no clue what they are doing or how to take care of a good wind up pocket watch. My suggestion to the negative reviewers, is to go buy a cheap digital watch from walmart... Maybe that will be more to their liking.
