Great for stamping and then watercoloring
This is not my first time purchasing Fabriano Hot Press Watercolor paper. I had never heard of hot press until I saw a crafter using it in a video. I love to do watercolor and had always used the super good cold press paper, but sometimes if I used a stamp I had to stamp it up to 4 times to get a good impression. With hot press paper you just stamp once and then watercolor. The paper can take quite a bit of paint and water which surprised me. It is also amazing for ink blending. I take my finished projects and turn them into cards. This paper also cuts very easily with my paper trimmer. This is the โgood stuffโ and is worth the price for me. After putting the work in on a project I dont want it to just be โOKโ. I want it to look spectacular and that is what this paper gives me. I will keep purchasing this from Amazon as it is a good price and quality paper. I wish people had told me long ago that โPaper Mattersโ!! Because it does.

high quality paper
This is quality watercolor paper. I use it for cyanotype printing and it holds up really well to the heavy rinsing required. The prints look beautiful, too. I use it sparingly as it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. If I'm printing something for a customer, this is what I'd use.

Fabriano Studio pad is good for calligraphy
Love, love Fabriano Artistico Hot Press paper. While this paper is listed as Fabriano Studio, it feels and functions just like the Artistico. When I buy Fabriano Artistico it comes in a full sheet, 35x22 and has to be cut down to my favorite 11x14 size. This pad of Fabriano Studio saves the step of resizing the paper and I'm really looking forward to using this pad more often for future projects. If you do Ink Calligraphy with Gouache paints, this paper is great for art projects.

Handles Everything I Throw at It
Iโve tried a lot of papers, and Fabriano Studio Hot Press is one I keep buying. I use it for watercolor, acrylics, colored pencils, chalk, collage, and mixed media, and it handles all of them without throwing a tantrum. The smooth surface is great for detailed work, but itโs also durable enough to hold up to multiple layers and techniques. I like it so much that I often paint on Fabriano sheets and glue the finished pieces into my watercolor journals because I prefer it over the paper in most watercolor sketchbooks Iโve tried. If Iโm buying a watercolor journal just to ignore the paper inside and paste Fabriano artwork onto it, that probably tells you everything you need to know. I am probably on my sixth or seventh watercolor pad. I also get the bigger sizes as well.

GOOD FOR CERTAIN TECHNIQUES, NOT SO MUCH FOR OTHERS.
It's 25% cotton mix, super smooth finish, back and front are basically identical. Good weight, sturdy paper. Not good enough absorbancy IMO newbie opinion for wet-on-wet. But if you do ink and wash, like I do, it's fine. Wet-on-dry is okay, if you have really good brushes for shading/blending. Good for cards or mostly lettering, or to make a multi-media journal out of. For a specific kind of use, good paper, but a bit pricey for being limited. BUT - I also know some people LOVE this paper for the qualities I criticize.

Handles water well.
Iโm quite choosy with paper. I usually use Arches, but wanted to try a pad that had more sheets in it as Iโm practicing using gouache. I also usually use cold press as Iโve found hot press to be not as good at handling water. Well this pad has me hooked! Itโs hot press, and handled the water very well! Itโs also did not tear when I pulled the tape off of the edges after painting. 50 sheets a really great price, paper is great, and Iโve now got a pad that I can use daily without worrying about needing to dump more money into paper in a week or two.

Incredible smoothness, handles water perfectly
I was first introduced to this paper by Ian Fennelly, and it has quickly become my absolute go-to for any loose paper projects outside of my journal. The surface smoothness is incredible, which makes working with fine line markers and intricate details a dream. Despite how smooth it is, it still handles water exceptionally well without warping like lower-quality sheets. I only wish they made a bound journal with this exact paper because I would buy it in a heartbeat!

You get what you pay. Good if your work doesnโt require lots of water or layers of work.
