Better than expected. I didn't need to modify either the original metal key nor the new plastic case pieces. the old metal key is a very tight fit but skillfully using a vise grip plier I was able to squeeze the plastic sheath all the way down flush with top of metal key - in retrospect cleaning the metal key using a good scouring pad or even some steel wool to remove old grime and grease then lubricating the key with some very light oil would have made sliding the new plastic sheath over the old key would have made an even better fit without the risk of damaging the plastic piece with the vise grips - fortunately I did not damage anything and I didn't need to cut or modify the kit nor did I have to grind the key. The Gold Lexus Log engraved on the back is a real bonus!! Considering what Lexus charges for a replacement body this is a real bargain - it appears that the quality of the plastic is as good or better than the original - very secure, no wiggle at all - all parts nice and tight and firm - feels strong and secure and looks better than new.

This product is a genius solution to the broken key fob on my 2003 Lexus LS430. This was an inexpensive solution to a frustrating problem. Dealer wanted $175 to order a new cut key.

Here's the trick with this thing....to get it through the plastic housing, get the bare key started and apply just enough force to get it near the bottom. I was not able to get it to seat completely with bare hands, for fear of breaking it. I used 2 pairs of pliers, carefully on each side of the plastic and squeezed at the same time and the key slid right into place. Make sure the hole is lined up perfectly. Snap it all together and tighten with the screw. Only 4 stars though, as others have mentioned, the fit is not perfect. There is a gap along the end with the screw, and it is completely tightened. It is not a big gap, maybe 1mm, but it is there. Seems like a non-issue, and considering my local safe/key shop wanted $89 for one of these (!!!!), I am more than pleased!

Perfect replacement case for my 2003 SC430 Lexus key case. Case cracked when I turned the key in the ignition a couple of months after battery replacement. I suspect the screw fell out. I was able to get the plastic off the metal part and insert it into the new case parts with the controller that wa fine. Works perfectly and appear to be well made.

Key fob case will fit 2009 Lexus key fob but when assembling you will have to force the key into the small piece (key holder), there will be a tiny space between the case faces after screwing them closed.

Purchased for an '04 RX330 and everything went together just as planned. Worked fine for 3 months and then cracked. For $4 ea I really can't complain but...there is a company called yodamd that makes THE BEST replacement case for older Lexus' and yota's but they are pricey...$80-90 per case. The case is titanium reinforced at all the twist points and will undoubtedly be the last case you buy. You could replace these 20x before you approach that cost but...do you really WANT to keep replacing your case?

I have a 2006 RX400h. As in the previous reviewer, you do have to cut the plastic away completely from the old key and only have the metal key. The fit in the new plastic is tight so I had to use some pliers to squeeze the key into their plastic. I am very happy so far. It a slightly smaller than the original the buttons are slightly more recessed but completely usable. I will update if it breaks with normal use but since I have an extra, it is a good value. Update March 7, 2023 So far so good. Feels OEM.

Both sets of our car keys were in desperate need of a new case and these worked out well. My husband did have to shave a little bit on the bottom where the key is so it would fit securely, but it was worth the trouble. I also ordered a protective cover so the casing wouldn’t break again if dropped.
