I bought this Laundry Guard because I have a front loading washing machine and dryer that is in a small tiny alcove with absolutely no room to get around them, or to move them, with the only storage place in my laundry room is a 12 inch deep wire shelf that’s over my W/D that obviously doesn’t extend out to the front edge of my washing machine and dryer…AND I’m 5’2. I have a small walk through galley style laundry room thats between my garage and the rest of my house that you have to walk through every time you come in to my house through the garage and with my laundry room being so narrow, there is nowhere to store a small step ladder (and yes I said ‘ladder’ instead of step stool because even a 1 or 2 step stool isn’t enough of a boost for me to be able to reach the wire shelf 🤦‍♀️) in there where it would be out of the way. Nor is there really anywhere to store a step ladder anywhere that is conveniently nearby my laundry room. Because of this, I keep a lot of stuff stored on top of my W/D. But when I do try to reach the wire shelf without a step ladder and accidentally knock something off of the shelf or whatever I’m grabbing for is just out of my reach it drops into what I call “the black hole” behind my W/D it’s never to be seen again 🤦‍♀️. Even one of those extension grabbers cannot reach all of the way to the floor behind my W/D. I purchased the Laundry Guard not only to prevent me from knocking stuff that I store on the top of my W/D off behind them, but also to prevent anything that I knock off that wire shelf from falling behind them. The Laundry Guard fulfills one of those motivations but not the other. It is not tall enough to be able to prevent whatever I accidentally end up knocking off the wire shelf above my W/D from falling behind it (which was my #1 motivation but I digress). It is tall enough to prevent any short item being stored on top of my W/D from falling over the back of them, but it’s also not tall enough to prevent anything tall & lightweight, tall & heavy, or even something just heavy from accidentally falling off the back of the machines. The magnets do stick well to the W/D but I do worry about them scratching the tops of them. The Laundry Guard also isn’t wide enough to be able to cover a usual size W/D that are placed right next to one another with absolutely no space in between them, even with the extension piece that comes with it. So while it’s a good concept, the Laundry Guard should DEFINITELY be taller and wider than it currently is to really be able to fulfill it’s intended use.

I like this product. I purchased it to go on a front loading washer and dryer. It works very well. It is not as wide as the washer and dryer but since it is flexible, it still gets the job done. Without it, I would “lose” lots of laundry to the “great unknown” behind the washer/dryer:-)

If anyone in your household piles laundry on top of the washer and dryer, this will prevent it from falling in back where you can’t get to it. Wish I’d known about these along time ago!

Installed on our new dryer. Like how it keeps clothes contained as we are folding them and nothing falls off behind.

What a great way to keep things organized on top of your washer and dryer. The guard keep things from falling over and behind the units. Totally recommend.

I had to convince myself to buy these because they're seriously overpriced and I needed two, but I broke down and purchased them under protest. So glad I did! Based on other reviews that said the magnets were weak, I also bought powerful magnet bars to supplement the ones that come with the unit, but the units attached very well to my machines so I returned the extra magnets. I imagine if you want to be able to put things inside these guards that may push against them you may want to add the extra magnets for greater firmness, but if, like me, you won't be doing that, then the magnets it comes with are enough to stay in place despite the shaking of the machines during use. These are plastic after all, so gotta keep that in mind and handle accordingly so they last a long time.When I pulled the trigger on these I fully expected to return them since they're most certainly overpriced but, after putting them to use I really liked them and decided to bite the bullet permanently :)). I put a heavy vinyl cover over the top of the machines to prevent scratches, then these guards around the borders and now I love the whole concept, wondering why someone didn't invent these sooner :)).

This is a high quality product. The plastic is strong, and the magnets are very effective at holding it in place on the machines. Everyone should have one of these.
