10" Cole Jaw Set (JSCOLE) For Nova Wood Lathe Chucks With Accessory Buffer Kit (6030)

I have a Jet mini lathe (6" swing) and use a Nova mini chuck that I bought at the same time as the lathe. The mini cole jaws that came with the Nova accessory pack limits me to a little over 6 inches in diameter. This 10 inch cole jaw set fits my chuck perfectly and expand my maximum diameter to almost 9 inches. That's a major improvement in my small shop. They do their job well and hold my workpiece securely. Make sure you read the instruction on max RPMs and follow the safety instructions.

This is not the cheapest Cole jaw option for Nova chucks, but it's very well-made and sturdy. I used them for the first time last night. My expectations were low -- it didn't make intuitive sense that a holding system involving rubber bumpers could be very precise -- and all I needed to do was remove the spigot from the bottom of a small bowl. But lo and behold, when I powered up my lathe, the bowl was spinning with almost zero runout!Mind, attempting to take too heavy of a lateral cut wrecks that, as the bumpers will flex. But taking my time with lighter shearing cuts, and some not-so-light face cuts with a scraper, yielded excellent results. I'm very happy with this purchase!

Fits the Nova chuck properly, good range of size.

The cole jaw set is perfect. It fits great and has the extra accessories that come with it all for a great price. The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 star is bc the case it comes in. It’s a box and not a case. I would rather pay 10 more bucks for it to come in a cheap little custom plastic case than a cardboard box.

Original Nova product - works perfectly with Nova G3 chuck. Additional fittings allow more versatility in holding different sizes and shapes of bowls.

This jaw set is potentially versatile holding a good range of bowl and plate sizes. Unfortunately the designers were not too intelligent or careful. My set contained only 7 screws for 8 places and the screws require different screwdrivers. Some are slot head and some hex head screws and both kinds are too few, only 7 screws for 8 positions. I have to use 7 slot head screws and one hex head, changing screwdrivers all the while. A good company gives you either the exact correct number of screws or perhaps one extra. Sloppy, greedy companies give you too few as in this case. Too bad, a good product is made inconvenient unnecessarily.
