Black+Decker JW200 Lids Off Jar Opener, White

I'm very happy with the product and the service from Fitter Dan. The product came in good condition and came in a timely manner as promised. I would certainly purchase from Fitter Dan again. I've used the product many times since my initial purchase and I'm sorry the rating I originally gave registered as a one. I would give the seller a 5 stars. I really like the product (JW200) because anyone who has hand disabilities, arthritis, is a senior, or anyone who just can't open the vacuumed sealed jars that are purchased at the stores would find this product a big aid to them. All you have to do is take a jar, place it on the bottom receptacle and turn the receptacle following the arrows, this will hold your jar in place. Then using the white switch on top near the handle, you lower the top part of the jar opener onto the jars lid. Next you press down on the gray switch which will move the upper grippers into position on the jar. One set of grippers will move to hold the jar itself and the other two will lock onto the jars lid. While continuing to press the gray switches mechanism down, the lids gripper will turn the jars lid until the lid is unsealed effortlessly.I originally purchased the Black and Decker JW400 5 years ago for my daughter-in-law and others who needed an aid to help with opening jars, cans and bottles, without assistance from others, and this product was very helpful to them. Everyone loved the product and couldn't believe how easy it was to operate. I wish the Black and Decker company would have continued with this product because there are many people who would benefit from all its users.

I pressed too hard when removing a lid on my old model. This new one only takes a small amount of pressure. It is a wonderful tool, and well worth the money.

Had an old one just like this. Same design color everything from around 2009. Looks like. Simple 20 dollar appliance. If my wife did not physically need this i would have laughed and looked away. Come on, this is price gouging at its best. Machine works great, but be sure to get a loan to buy it!

I bought this for my mother, who at 77 years old cannot open jars without help. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, but we brought it to her early and she luckily decided to open it now instead of waiting. The opener will do nothing when the power button is held down. Amazon refuses to allow a refund, so I’m out $140 and still have to get my mother a present.

A very big help for those of us with arthritis in our wrists or just a weak grip. The pros are that it works very well on many jar sizes and is easy to use.The cons are that the top is a bit heavy for my wife to raise one-handed so that she can put the jar under it.The 2nd problem is that the rubber grips are coming unglued from the lower tabs (see photo). I plan to glue them back or replace them with adhesive-backed rubber pads that I can cut to size. I will have to do that because though I bought this unit about 6 months ago and it was supposed to have a 1 year warranty, I was told by Black and Decker that it had been manufactured in 2004 (!) and that rubber grips were no longer available for it.

As long as the jar is less than 8" high and 4.5" diameter, it will fit in. I had poor results trying to open glass jars with tools. Having a medical condition with weak hands, this jar opener has been beneficial for me. It recommends that plastic safety wrap around the lid should be removed first.

I have severe psoriatic arthritis in my hands. I so recommend this. It was expensive but well worth it. Nothing else I have works like this.

I have had one of these for 20 years and a little piece broke off. So to make a long story short I Had to get a new one At my age I think this new will out live me, I am 88in Nov. I WAS BIT SHOCKED AT THE PRICE BUT THAT IS LIFE, MAYBE MY KIDS CAN SELL IT FOR $100 when I kick the bucket.haha Have good day!

It is easy to use, works like a charm on all jars so far. Well designed and look good on kitchen counter.

The product was listed as new, but when it arrived, it was really dirty with stains everywhere. I wouldn't want to touch it.

I purchased this product for a senior citizen who broke the one she had. She bought the same model. this senior does not have a lot of strength in her hands, makes her life easier. not an easy product to find in stores, but probably because of price tag, unfortunate because it would make many seniors lives easier, or anyone who has problems with strength in their wrists.

Loved the use of it. My mother in law has used one for about 10 years.
