Most accurate phosphate checker on the market
While I’ve used other test kits for a while, it wasn’t always easy to determine the exact right color that the readings showed, and the range of results were sometimes a bit too broad and not specific enough in certain ranges. With the Hanna kit, it’s just as easy to test (despite the slightly finicky packets that you have to add the contents of into the small test vial), and the results are always an exact reading that leaves no room for questioning or wondering what the results might be like the color chart test kits can do. It’s a bit pricy compared to other kits, but it’s well worth the price if accuracy, consistency, and ease of use are important to you. Highly recommend the Hanna Phosphate checker!

Much more confident actually knowing my reef parameters.
I should have purchased these years ago. I am just getting back Into the Hobby and these Hanna Checkers were suggested to me on a reef forum. At around $60 each, It is a bit expensive, especially when you consider buying a Hanna checker for each parameters you are testing. The thing is, knowing your exact parameter result and not having to compare results on a color chart is well worth the price. I am able to know exactly what my metrics are and can make decision based in confidence instead of guessing. Highly recommended investing in these checkers! Easy to use as well!

This device will test your nerves not your phosphate levels.
It’s very sad that this device is one of the best options on the market. It’s far away from a decent user experience. As an intermediate reefer, I find this product very annoying for several reasons and that’s why I lost my trust to the Hanna brand. The functional design of the device is terrible and if you’re first time user, be sure you watch some YouTube videos first. There is a high chance you could brake the product on your first use. Especially the battery compartment works like a trap for first timers. This is the reason why product design shouldn’t be left in the hands of engineers!!! There is only one button on the device which you use as short / long press which is ok but the button will make you restart the test all over again because of a function failure!!! Starting over the test possibly means you’ve lost another bag of reagent. The reagent comes in a sealed paper bag, which I also find very terrible. It feels like the mission impossible to pour the reagent in the glass tube without spilling it to the ground. I tried funnels and other stuff to overcome this issue but it didn’t help. That’s where you’re gonna lose another bag of valuable chemicals and you will have to spend a second or maybe a third bag for the same test. This brand has no sense of being eco-friendly. With every attempt of doing a test there is going to be a waste of another paper bag. Did they really couldn’t find another way to store the reagent??? A proper vessel and a spoon would be much convenient with 50 times less waste. With this test, you will have to shake the glass tube for 2 minutes and I’d definitely recommend you to get a magnetic stirrer to the job for you. I thought getting a digital reader would bring some ease for my daily test routines but it turns out it’s the opposite way. I love doing my daily morning tests but this is the worst part of my beautiful morning. I didn’t even had one single day without cursing the brand Hanna. Ps. This product doesn’t deserve a one star but the brand needs it. They have to do way better than this.
