I’m not an ice climber or a mountaineer and this thing is awesome. It is satisfying to break ice apart with. And as a bartender, I used to think I’d go for the Galliano if a brawl broke out in my bar. But 100% this is myself defense weapon of choice. Solid quality.

The rubberized handle provides a reassuringly firm grip. The three picking surfaces are different by design, but they all do what they do best very efficiently. And the pick has just the right amount of heft to feel spot on in the hand (at least for me). I was skeptical, but I'm a believer now. What finally decided this purchase for me was a lengthy struggle with a bag of grocery store ice from my freezer. I actually didn’t really appreciate the masterful design & balance of this ice tool until I completely dismantled a 8-lb frozen bag of ice in mere seconds. Each type of blade works on a different frozen ice situation. The ice blade is great for breaking apart large chunks. The ice pick axe works great for slightly smaller chunks and the heavy duty ice pick works great on the fine detail (The ice pick never bends or ever needs sharpening).

If only they made a version with a flat-face on one side, this would be a a killer piece of kit not only for bar work, but for an all-around kitchen tool, especially for the road-cook. Hope y’all read these, because I’d love to see it happen—hammer chisel and pick all in one sexy little package.

Due to a faulty ice maker in my expensive Samsung refrigerator (which they can't or won't fix), I resorted to buying an ice maker and storing the ice in the freezer. Often times, the ice clumps together so I needed something to break up the ice. I didn't want one of those cheap long pointed picks so I opted to buy the Barfly Ice Pick. It is extremely sturdy, very well crafted and has three different heads to choose from to break up the ice. I will never need to buy another ice pick. It's more expensive than other products but well worth it!

I really enjoy this ice pick/hammer . I have also purchased one for my sister-in-law
