Damp Proofing Rods DPC Kit: Treats 6 Linear metres (9" Wall) - BBA Approved Rising Damp Treatment

This product is amazing! The photo was taken 10 days after I drilled and inserted the rods and after a weekend of a substantial amount of rain. Before treatment, I'd see a good arc of damp, after rain, extending 2 to 3 feet up the wall. You can see now that in a short space of time, the product has deflected the damp so that only a small patch appears well below the line of mortar below floor level. I chose to insert from the outside since we have a 9 inch wall... no cavity... and all interior walls are dry lined anyway. I'm frankly amazed at how quickly the dryrod has worked. Excellent product, an easy DIY job and a quick result. Cannot recommend enough.

Restoring an Edwardian house there was damp in the front and spine walls that has now completely gone following use of these dry rods. This can be a DIY job, but be careful to follow the instructions to the letter. For us, they have been so successful that we’re doing the same treatment on the party walls as an added precaution. From our experience, I can highly recommend them.

Finally finished done complete 1920's house from outside along top line of engineering bricks. Rods inserted at Perth's. So first point. Instructions not clear. 120mm rod separation or at Perth's? I would say the hole clearing tool is essential and not an option. You cannot rely on drill bit to clear holes. This tool is real quality and does a good job. Don't drill/clear holes one day and come along the next and expect a clean insertion. You will have to drill/clear holes again; especially if it rained. Rod insertion. Rods should not be compressed. So ensure holes are clear and insert in one clean evenly pressured action. If you stop they may jam and not want to be pressed in or extracted. One could ask is the safeguard supplied 12mm drill bit really up to the job and are tolerances just a little too tight. The dryrod cutter tool is a cheap pile of pants. Mine fell apart and blade blunted after only a handful of rods. For the price of this tool I would expect to be able the replace blades, and obviously not to fall apart, see picture. I bought 3 fifty packs and recommended tools. I now need to wait 6-12 months to know if my installation has been successful and to know if dryrods do the job. Would I recommend this job for your average DIYer. Yes, but not as straight forward as one might think. Phone support is excellent. Am I a happy chappie? Time will tell.
