Amazing Product, super easy to use with just using a heaping tablespoon of the product, a cup of boiling water and placing a bowl over the drain. Both sides of the double kitchen sink are clog free and the slight odor is gone. It left the drain covers shiny and clean with the added bonus of it being safe for the environment. Highly recommend because it works and the price is low. I actually didn't have to purchase 2 containers because you use a small amount, but I'm so glad I did. Lastly, be prepared for actually hearing this amazing product working with strange sounds because as soon as you pour the water it begins working on the clogs. It's lye. 100% pure sodium hydroxide. Can be used for anything you would normally use lye for. Cleaning drains, making soap, etc. By far the best buy on lye I could find on Amazon.

Be careful and follow the directions carefully... always protect your eyes and hands when using. Exothermic... be careful to keep your face away from the drain in case this causes water to boil and splatter out of the drain. Face shield is very recommended. My drain traps are PVC... metal drain traps might suffer cumulative damage. Absolutely destroys hair and grease clogs. Avoid contact with anything made of aluminum or aluminum alloys. Always treat lye with respect. It's extremely effective but has dangers that deserve very careful handling.

This is a VERY HONEST REVIEW ok?! I don’t really leave or write reviews coz some products doesn’t alway live up the hype. Story time: My guest room toilet has been clogged for almost a month because my kid not flushing the toilet soon after they use it and the toilet paper just keep piling up and absorbing whatever water that is left on our “water efficient” toilet.. husband who also uses the said toilet dis not want to be a part of the said issue so the problem fell upon me who NEVER used it ever.. Upon checking thee toilet which is filled with rotting poop, pee and toilet paper that look and smell like sewer.. i didn’t not even try to clean it with a regular toilet brush coz soon as i try to flush it.. water just goes up instead of down.. with that being said I have to find a solution to break down the clog hence I found this product. Followed the direction on the bottle, boiled a cup of water, into the toilet I put a tablespoon of the crystal Lye and the boiled water i let it sit in there for an hour with the cover down even though it says just 15mins.. opened the toilet nd everything is already breaking down.. then I flushed it again with a big pot of hot water.. and let it do it’s job.. went back to check on it after several hours.. flushed it and voila my toilet is back in business!!! So go now and buy it!!! Very easy to use!

I make my own dish soap and was looking for lye for making solid soap. This jar has been a good choice for the price and size. Using just a small amount I was able to make eight dish soap bars with a little bit of lye. I will have this jar for a long time!

Probably fine for pipes and plumbing clogs but I bought it for soapmaking and its very dirty. I didn't get a clear lye solution. There was gray scum floating on the top of the solution. I had to filter the lye and try to skim off the scum on the top. I was very disappointed. If you are just looking for a cheap lye to try for your first batch it should work but don't expect a pristine clear solution.

does not work, product does not even fizz up or melt hair like in the description. Tested directly with hotwater and toilet paper in a cup. does not break down the toilet paper more than the water flow doing the breaking down.
