Can you love a toilet?
Apparently it is the little things in life that matter because I am beyond thrilled with my new Toto Drake and washlet. Our home was built in the 80's and I suspect our toilets were still the original builder's grade toilets. I've had my eye on a Toto for years and the Drake really hit the goldilocks zone for me in quality, price and size. As a shorter person I did not want a universal height or ADA toilet. I also wanted something that did what it did well without too much assistance on my part. Repeated flushing, trying to clean a toilet that seemed to persist in becoming gross in less than a week (red water stains, etc) and the sheer amount of water per flush had made my old toilets a real pain in the . . .I ordered two Drakes and they arrived fairly quickly and were delivered by a freight company. The flush tank and the toilet shipped in separate boxes but all four boxes arrived together. I am glad I did not get the one piece toilet because this thing is quite weighty. Assembling the toilet is very easy, even for a novice. The flush on the Drake is surprisingly different from the American Standard and Kohler toilets that I was used to. The water does swirl around the entire bowl and the low flush does a great job emptying the bowl. The glaze on the interior of the bowl does ask for gentler handling - no scrubbing with abrasives and acids - but that is really no problem with the eco friendly, gentler products on the market now. We have been using these for a week now and have had no issues at all.

Worst toilet design ever
I've owned this toilet for four years. This toilet has the worst design of any toilet I've ever used. The low water level in the bowl design means that nearly every #2 usage leaves streaks and marks above the water level. The flush is not enough to wash these away and they must be brushed off every time. That's not how indoor plumbing is supposed to work. It's supposed to be convenient, but this toilet is definitely not.

Easy install - Toto quality
Installed just like any other two piece toilet. I saw another reviewer claim it was hard or his contractor was having issues? I didn't experience any issues or anything unexpected. I removed an American Standard that was prone to clogging, and installed this Toto in under 1 hour. The hardest part was carrying the slippery/impossible to get a hold old toilet downstairs and out (no, we are not pausing and setting it down with wax all over the bottom of it). There is a clear warning about not using bleach or abrasives in the bowl or the non-stick will not be so non-stick. So far so good on that front, everyone in the house warned. We have not had any prior models, but this doesn't have a forceful woosh flush if your expecting that, or the glug-glug the old toilet would make. It's really pretty quiet.. I wasn't expecting a "jet fly over" flush, but had something louder and more forceful in my head.-the bolt caps are with the tank.. your wax ring likely doesn't come with them. I noticed them after I used the new bolts and nuts that came with the ring. So had to remove the nuts again to install the larger washer and cap snap ring.

Shipping & Delivery Time Issues, but an excellent toilet
I ordered the Toto from Amazon Services LLC at an excellent price of $209, but had some problems getting a delivery ETA after a 5-day period. One or two weeks later, the product arrived and all was fine. Nicely packaged parts. The install was simple but I wasted money on a "fancy" gasket as an upgrade from a wax ring. The fancy gasket didn't work (too small in diameter and too high for my above surface drain pipe flange) and was replaced with a simple wax ring from the local hardware store. After a few weeks of use, I and my wife are quite happy with this toilet. In either light or heavy flush mode, it does the job and leaves a clean bowl. Much better than the old toilet that consistently failed to flush......

No Dural Flush
I got the wrong model number, but I guess that it is no longer manufactured. I wish I knew that before. This is no dural Flush, so you know. Although it is not what we have wanted, we decided to keep it. It is an amazing product other than the fact that it wasnot waht we wanted. It flushes amazinly well. I think we would save lots of

Great toilet. But need to clean frequently
I love this toilet! The 1.6 flush is strong but the other is economical with water. No problem with clogging after 6 months. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that very little water rests at the bottom. So you will need to clean it frequently with a scrub brush after using it for #2's. Other than that it is great. I plan on getting another for the 2nd bathroom when it needs replacing. However due to the water issue would not use it for my high traffic communal bathroom.

Don’t let the flush fool ya, it’s amazing!!
I was a little wary at first since the flushes (its a dual flush) were rather weak but we have not had 1 issue since installing this toilet. We have had it for 6 months now and i have yet to use the plunger. With our old toilet we had to plunge it on a weekly basis. The bowl area is shallow with a deep center hole so cleaning isn’t as easy as our old toilet but I’ll take that over having to plunge it any day!

Very disappointed
I have always heard great things about Toto toilets. I ordered two in February, which were installed in early March. I have deeply regretted this purchase. The tornado flush has too little water to work with. We had to buy toilet brushes to place by these toilets because the bowls are very dirty after use. This is disgusting. We need to go back to older American models with a larger bowl which held more water and had the power to flush. The shape of the bottom drain is a trapezoid which will not fit a round plunger. Fortunately I know a plumbers trick which is to pour hot, not boiling, water in along with a generous amount of dishwashing soap (not sudsing) and let gravity do the job. I have had to do this at least once a week despite the rule of flushing after the movement and before using the t.p. But even that clogs the system. These are a poorly engineered waste of money.
