Neotech C.E.O Thumb Rest Tabs Clarinet Part (5001402)

The thumb rest tab would not fit over the thumb rest on my Buffet E11. It is a rubber piece. I tried to make work by softening it in very hot water. This worked to get the clip on my neck strap through the hole but I tried and tried but couldn't make it work even after I trimmed the slot a little wider with a pocket knife.

The tabs are very tight and are shredding the padding on the underside of my thumb rest. The section that goes onto the thumb rest just needs to be a slightly larger opening in order to work better. It fits but not perfectly. I had to add a loop to the tab as well because my strap did not fit in the hole provided. I'm making them work for my purpose though.

These work well. I have arthritis, and holding up a clarinet by the thumb rest is painful. But with these tabs, I can use a neck strap. I gave it only 4 stars because the hole in the end of the tab is not really big enough. It would work with a strap that has a wire hook, but my straps all have clasp style hooks. I was able to use it with them by adding a split ring, but a bigger hole would be nicer.

Thumb rest tab fit right on the thumb rest no problem and with the Neotech clarinet strap my thumb is no longer tired after playing for extended periods. I wish this product had been around when I started playing clarinet. And the price is affordable too.

Worked as expected, but discovered I couldn’t use my rubber thumb rest cushion with it. The tab kept pushing off. I used my alto sax strap, worked fine

Totally innovative way to attach a strap to a clarinet!

When I use it as shown my neck strap is now in the way of my left thumb. if I flip it over it works better coming up from under the thumb rest farther away from the clarinet giving my left thumb more room. I added a simple latex tube pad and that helped it from coming undone.

Fits perfectly for me to use a neck strap.
