Works pretty well for light duty
I like this trimmer. It is fine for doing light duty trimming in areas that you could not reach with a pole. I chose this brand because I already had a couple of old Worx batteries from a 6 year old lawn trimmer. The batteries are the same although they've been updated in their labeling a bit. The charger is significantly different, which is good, because that old wall wart charger took a long time to charge a battery. I was a bit worried because my lawn trimmer would go through batteries pretty quick, and I'm still not sure this trimmer would work well with only one battery. One battery was enough for my testing, but I wouldn't expect it to last more than 30 minutes with constant trimming however. Honestly, next to my "Brand X" 18V cordless hedge trimmer, this Worx looks and sounds a little underpowered. Of course the "Brand X" is a hand trimmer, and not on a pole. The pole version of that brand's trimmer may be lighter duty as well. The Worx did OK actually cutting, but just looking at it, I can see that it would have its limitations. The trim head is easy to adjust and goes from 90 degrees down to 45 degrees up (135 degree range). The plastic "scabbard" has a mounting hole for the wall so you can use it to hang the trimmer head while not in use. I guess you hang the pole on a hook then. I didn't see anything in the box for hanging that. I agree with what I read in other reviews. It does get heavy after a while, and initially the pole on mine wouldn't stay extended either. I was able to tighten it up with a screwdriver and a allen wrench. If you over tighten it (like I did), you won't be able to move the orange release lever, but after loosening it enough to work the lever, it still was able to grip the pole tightly and not move while in use. I also agree that a short handle attachment to make this a light duty hand trimmer would have been very nice. It may be a bit underpowered to use as hand trimmer, but it is notably lighter than my "Brand X", and I think it would have made a nice light trimmer (light duty and light weight). Also as others have said, there is no grab handle, which is a real head scratcher since the grass timmer has an adjustable grab handle and it is not nearly as long. The back handle does rotate, but I found no use for that. It was easier just to rotate my grip. One thing I didn't like about this trimmer that I didn't see mentioned much is that the trigger can get hung up where it needs a more grip strength to keep it pressed than I would like. Overall though, its pretty nice and got the job done.

Some drawbacks but beats gas
I have a WORX weed Wacker and 2 batteries already, so adding this is helpful. I really like how easy it is to just add a battery and start trimming bushes. The head can be set to different angles, and the length can be set fairly long, allows to me to reach back of larger holly bushes. It is really nice not to have to check and add oil, change the oil, clean the air filter, and change spark plugs. I no longer have to worry about touching the hot parts while holding this high. It is also lighter weight than my gas one. It does have some drawbacks though. It is not as strong as the gas one and can not cut branches thicker than my pinky finger. But it is easier to use, just need to trim more often. The pole only shortens some and doesn’t go down to just a handle – still has some awkward length to it. It is heavy/awkward at long length with all the weight at the head. I always bring the batteries inside and place on charger after use, read hot/cold can drain them over time. My guess is batteries will need replaced after a few years and will be $.

Safe trimming , with good power.
If you're challenged with trimming needs that otherwise require your using ladders, this is the product for you. In our case, we have wisteria that cover 2 trellises, with annual growth reaching upwards of 8 feet and more. I choose this battery powered trimmer because of my experience with some of the other Worx fine tools. The trimmer is nicely made with regard to weight, design, and safety I do want to address battery power. Out of the box, I used the trimmer for nearly 2 hours and had substantial power to spare (battery has a lighted fuel guage). It came with a 20v, 2 amp hour battery and charger. There are larger amp hour batteries available, but the trade off is added tool weight. I found the provided battery quite adequate, and, in fact, appreciated the break during recharge. Keep in mind, the weight of the trimming tool is mounted on the top of the telescoping pole. Extended, trimming is dooable, but unwieldy and fatiguing. Some sort of shoulder harness would be very helpful, if not necessary. All considered, this tool is most capable and efficiently keeps the user safely on the ground. Will I keep this tool ... absolutely. I have no difficulty recommending it to most anyone that can handle its top heavy weigh. Ladders can be dangerous, even without trimmers that, in any case, require both hands.

Shared batteries between tools and durability!
My favorite thing about WORX items is the battery interchangeability. The second favorite thing is their durability. I've had my cordless weed whip for over ten years and it still works perfectly. We also got a WORX leaf blower a year ago. They get used at least once a week. I look forward to using this hedge trimmer; the old one we have works, but it's very heavy and corded. The noise in all of these tools is acceptable at best and better/lower than most. We have several batteries, all in chargers all the time. I can trim nearly my whole acre of plants, flower beds, shrubs, etc with one battery on the weed whip, and use the blower around the yard, garage, ship and patio on one battery. We take good care of our tools so they will last! Good products.

Not bad for the price but didn't know the trade off
I'm a guy in my mid-50s who finally said goodbye to pull-start gas trimmers and picked up the Worx 20V pole hedge trimmer. The decision came after nearly giving myself a heart attack trying to start my old Ryobi gas model. After about 50 pulls, it roared to life, I hacked away at the bushes, and then spent the rest of the day chugging water and recovering. (It’s regularly 90 degrees where I live, so that didn’t help.) Pros: The Worx fired up instantly—no yanking, no swearing. The pole is easy to handle, and all the features do exactly what they’re supposed to. Cons: It doesn’t have the cutting power of a gas model. Even small branches take some effort compared to the Ryobi, which used to slice right through. Still, it comes with a battery, it’s ready to go out of the box, and most importantly—it won’t land me in the ER. For the price, it’s a smart trade-off.

Works well, but heavy.
I bought this to supplement a gas trimmer. I was wanting to be able to trim the tops of our bushes without a ladder. This trimmer does that just fine, the ability to angle the trimmer was helpful as the tops of our bushes are rounded. One benefit I did not expect was the ability to angle the trimmer and trim the bottom of the bushes. Much easier than having to crouch down to do it. Its cordless, I charged the battery prior to use and the trimmer ran all the way through trimming, about an hour and still had charge when I finished. Its too long to use as a regular trimmer (I thought) So I do still use my gas trimmer. But its great for hard to reach spots. Quality seems fine, it is heavy. When its extended my arm gets tired pretty fast because the balance really pushes on my arms. But I dont have to climb a ladder or crouch under the bushes. I really appreciate that.

Highly recommend! A++++
Not sure of the negative comments on here but this telescoping trimmer worX wonders! I almost bought the $280 Ego attachment but opted to this $87 worx trimmer as I already have 2 batteries for my worx buffer and weed trimmer, and boy I am glad I did! I have the hand held Ego trimmer and with the big-O Ego battery compared to the worx trimmer’s tiny but mighty battery they performed just the same! I highly recommend this product!

Work good ! I recommend !
I only use it one summer, but it did a great job ! Yes, it's heavy when it's far from you, but you only have to buy a strap for 15-20$ and everything is good ! I recommend !

Worx wg252 20v 20" cordless pole hedge tr
Despite what Rufus claims there is no shoulder strap with this model. The shoulder strap I believe that the shoulder strap comes with the wg252s. Yes it is top heavy, because the weight is in the cutting tool. I used it for the first time and found it worked great for what it is. Trimmed my cedar hedge, top and sides and when I was done the battery still shows full change. My hedge is about 30 feet in length. I'm not sure if having a shoulder strap would help with it being top heavy, but I am still recommending this trimmer. Very satisfied with this product. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pole hedge trimmer.
