A good design that fails with a cheap, plastic base

The shotgun mic holder itself it well made and long enough to suspend any size mic well, but the base is made from very cheap plastic. It snapped clean in two after about six months of use, before we wore out a single rubber band. This is fine for casual use, but nothing more.
