Shinto Saw File S E1101

I bought this to reshape and thin guitar necks for better playability. This thing will remove some wood when you put it to work. Saved a lot of time. Much quicker than a traditional file.

I was very pleased with the tool. Easily removed wood desired. Good size. Like the corse and fine teeth. My grandson was impressed with how it helped with our woodworking project(s).

I am a pipe organ builder by trade and do more wood working in a day than most people have seen in a lifetime! This is the best rasp ever invented! Easy to control rough and fine any wood I have ever put it through. .. even exotics! Who ever invented this should win the Nobel rasp prize! Literally the only rasp I will ever use again! So if you are on the fence about buying this... get off the fence and get on your phone and buy it!

These things really remove material, no power required! They do leave obvious saw marks that you will need to smooth out after removal. The coarseness of both sides is perfect.

This a great wrasp! Bonus!- it has 2 sides one rough, the other fine! The only reason for not giving 5 stars- I wish the handle was a bit longer to fit more comfortably in my hand.

I would like to start by saying that I have never heard of, nor seen, anything like this before in my life. That is before I started watching Ben Crowe on YouTube. I have worked as a woodworker, metalworker, and other trades so I am not new to tools or forming material. This thing, and yes it is a thing, is amazing! If you work wood in any way that requires you to remove material to make curves, the kind that a saw is not going to help with. The kind that every woodworker dreads because it is going to take grinding away with a rasp or flap wheel, for hours, or what can seem like days! I bought this because A) it was cheap and B) I saw someone on YouTube use it and say it worked great. I have owned this for about a month, and I will defend it with reckless abandon! What would take a couple hours with a rasp, takes a few minutes for this to finish. Plus in addition to being able to make A LOT of sawdust VERY quickly, it has two sides, one is course and one is fine. The course will hog out wood QUICK, please pay attention it will go beyond where you wanted to stop before you realize it, and the other side is fine to smooth out the wood and make finishing a breeze. So, basically, BUY THE DAMN THING! You will not regret it, nor will you regert it! You may even hang it on a plaque on the wall.

This is a very useful file! It has two cutting grades.
