Only wanted to read Benjamin Buttons this time.
Albeit depressing, it is a well-written short story, one of his best, which I always enjoy. It makes one think, deeply.

Love this, movie was better. W/o Pitt, would be better. More average guy. More believable. Re story been hard to write into screenplay, but loved both.

This was a very touching short story. I love that there are other stories included and it is indexed so that you can get to each one quickly. You can't beat the price either!

Slow, but Fast
This collection has some really interesting ideas and gives a clear picture of the Jazz Age, but it’s a bit hit or miss. A few stories, like “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” really stand out, while others feel dated or just didn’t fully hold my attention. It’s worth reading if you want to understand Fitzgerald’s style and the time period, but not every story feels memorable.

everyone should read a Scott or two!
The writing style is certainly an education in it self for diction. The story is very descriptive to the style of life from a historical view. It raises issues of the social structure and class society in the early 1900's.

Nachdem die Bestellung angekommen war, entzückte mich vorerst das cool illustrierte Cover, dass die Geschichte um Benjamin Button gut veranschaulicht."Ein seltsames Baby ist zur Welt gekommen: kein süßer kleiner Fratz, der seine Eltern beglückt, sondern ein alter Mann mit Bart. Sein Name: Benjamin Button. Ein schweres Schicksal ist ihm vorherbestimmt: Er durchläuft das Leben rückwärts und wird von Tag zu Tag jünger. Als Benjamin schließlich im Alter von fünfzig Jahren die zwanzig Jahre jüngere Hildegarde kennenlernt, steht für ihn, der sein Leben lang nie geliebt wurde, alles auf dem Spiel. Eine anrührende und skurrile Geschichte, jetzt in Neuübersetzung."Meine Meinung:Dieser Roman ist wohl eher eine Kurzgeschichte.Benjamin Button kommt als Greis auf die Welt. Als sein Vater zum Krankenhaus eilt ( Die Geschichte spielt in einer Zeit, wo es nicht üblich ist, dass Väter bei der Geburt dabei sind), erwartet ihn ein Greis, der sich auch so benimmt.Benjamin durchläuft sein Leben rückwärts, wird vom alt Geborenen zum jungen Mann hin zum Kind und Säugling.Es gibt ein paar witzige Episoden:Zum Beispiel, wie sich Benjamins Vater wundert, dass die Zigarren in seinem Hause plötzlich so schnell aufgebraucht sind - das ist Benjamin erst wenige Wochen daheim.Mehr will ich gar nicht verraten. :wink:Benjamin, von Anfang an durch seine Sonderstellung gekennzeichnet versucht, das Beste aus seinem Leben zu machen - was nicht immer leicht ist.Fazit:Ein gelungener Bestseller mit zusätzlichen Kurzgeschichten im selben Stil.Kaufempfehlung!Lg.

this is a good collection of short stories. some stories are really short and some are longer...i guess people who like fitzgerald's writing will also like this book
