I purchased this tag because I thought my dog needed identification. I was wrong. Apparently, I needed identification. Let me explain. The tag arrived, and immediately I could tell that this was not your ordinary pet tag. This was a precision-engineered, stainless-steel declaration of identity. This was not merely a piece of metal hanging from my dog's collar. This was a tiny wearable autobiography. I had up to eight lines of text available, and naturally, I had no idea what to put. Most people would write: "Buddy 555-123-4567" Not me. I spent approximately four hours contemplating the existential implications of having eight lines of text available for a creature who cannot even pronounce his own name. Should I include his phone number? My phone number? My address? His favorite food? A brief explanation of his political beliefs? His blood type? His opinions on the current state of the economy? I eventually settled on his name and my phone number, but I still feel like I wasted six lines of perfectly good stainless-steel real estate. The tag itself is fantastic. It is shiny. It is sturdy. It makes that satisfying little CLINK CLINK CLINK sound every time my dog walks around the house, which initially caused me to think someone was slowly dragging a spoon across the floor at 2:00 in the morning. I eventually realized it was just my dog. He was fine. I was not. The engraving is clear and easy to read, which is important because I don't want someone finding my dog and having to conduct an archaeological excavation to determine what the tag says. The stainless steel also gives me confidence that this tag will survive the many dangers of daily dog life. Rain? No problem. Mud? Probably fine. A mysterious puddle of unknown origin in the backyard? We shall see. My dog rolling around in something that was definitely alive at some point? The tag remains victorious. I also appreciate that the tag is small enough that my dog doesn't look like he's wearing a medieval shield around his neck. Although, frankly, I would have bought that too. "Sir Barkington, Defender of the Backyard." Maybe that's what I should have engraved. I have already considered ordering a second tag simply because I now feel that the first one does not adequately communicate my dog's full personality. I may need one tag for his name. One for his phone number. One explaining that he is friendly but occasionally makes questionable decisions. One that says "I have no idea where I'm going." And one that simply says: "Please return me. My human is very confused." The best part is that the tag gives me peace of mind. If my dog ever decides to embark on an unauthorized neighborhood expedition, whoever finds him will have a way to contact me. Of course, my dog has absolutely no idea that this is the entire purpose of the tag. He thinks I put jewelry on him. He has not thanked me. He has not acknowledged the craftsmanship. He has not once complimented the engraving. Ungrateful. I give this product five stars because it does exactly what it is supposed to do, looks great, feels durable, and provides important identification information for my dog. I would give it six stars, but apparently Amazon's rating system is not prepared for this level of excellence. UPDATE — 3 MONTHS LATER: The tag is still attached. The dog is still alive. The tag has survived rain, dirt, mud, mysterious backyard substances, and at least one incident that I am legally and morally obligated not to discuss. The engraving is still readable. I have also discovered that the sound of a dog tag jingling at 3:17 AM is an extremely effective way to achieve a heart rate of approximately 190 beats per minute. Would buy again. Actually, I already did. I don't even have another dog. I just feel like this product deserves a larger audience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ FINAL VERDICT: Excellent tag. Excellent stainless steel. Excellent engraving. Excellent tiny piece of metal. My dog now has more reliable identification than I have ever had in my entire life. 10/10. Would recommend. Please do not ask me why I spent 45 minutes deciding what to put on a dog tag. I don't know either.

I love that this tag has much more room for detailed information than a standard pet store tag, which gives me extra peace of mind. I purchased two identical tags for my dog, one for his collar and one for his harness. If he is outside he has on at least one of those two items. I’m very pleased with the tags. Right away I noticed that they are a heavier weight than other tags I’ve had over the years. This makes me think they will be quite durable. I purchased tags shaped like a bone with a silver color surface. They look great. The tags can be engraved on both sides. That was a major selling point for me. On one side I have my pet’s name with a phone number. The reverse side has the dog’s name, my name, and our address. I like it a lot. I’m very pleased with the tags. They cost more than some but they are worth it.

I bought this quite a long time ago and it still looks like new. I love that it can be personalized on both sides, which is super useful. It is strong, thick but not too thick. Looks pretty in steel, hasn't tarnished and the lettering has not messed up at all. Still looks like new. It does not jingle and make noise. Easy to put on the collar and fit is perfect. They have different shapes and colors. I have had others before these that have literally sheared off where the hole was in the tag, all he had on his collar was the round ring. THESE TAGS are the BEST! They are better quality, hold up, well made, larger font on the name, easier to read than other dog tags. I recommend these!

Tag is very sturdy and well made. The attachment ring is very flimsy. I had to use another one that I had. The thickness was difficult to fit into the tag, but I managed to make it work. The tag itself is great, and I love the shiny finish. The attachment ring is my only complaint.

I bought the gold tag for my dog & it looks great! Engraving is exactly how we imagined it. Tag comes polished but can get a worn look after use for a while (we’ve had ours about 3months). Highly recommend!
