Beware of splinters from the handles :/They got the job done, though. However we are not expert pumpkin carvers, we just did basic, easy designs.Some pumpkin is stuck in one of the tools, so I'm hoping we can get it out. Otherwise we may need to throw that one away :(Very sharp, ready-to-carve tools. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR CHILDREN. I did not want to risk breaking the spoon, though, so I gripped the metal part instead of the plastic handle more often than not. However, they feel pretty sturdy. It seems like the metal bar from the tool extends into the inside of the plastic handles. So pretty sturdy but not indestructible.Very happy with what I paid for. We will be using them next year and hopefully more years to come.

Most of the wooden handled tools are worthless for pumpkin, except for the two sizes of hole punchers. These are not sturdy enough to carve with and more suitable for soft material like clay. The big paddle is pretty good at scooping out guts and I like that it has a serrated edge.

I purchased this kit hoping it would be like another I bought from Amazon and it sadly wasn't. The tools are a nice quality, though we only really used the two saws. Even the scoop was largely abandoned because the sharp serrated edge of it kept getting in the way of people's hands. The handles were a bit on the small side, so they didn't feel substantial enough in my larger hands and were also tough on those in our group who have arthritis in their hands/wrists. Larger handles and a tang that goes fully through it might have helped. Also the scoop having a larger, thicker neck like the one in the kit I bought before that has since been discontinued. Also, a guide for how some of the smaller, detailing tools could be used would be a good idea.

They weren’t as sturdy as I expected them to be but overall it did the job with a little elbow grease.

This is a very nice, sturdy carving kit. And, it looks so professional! The tools are secured in a zippered pouch and there is a great variety to help with all of your pumpkin carving needs.

We loved it while we camped during Halloween. We all carved pumpkins and tools held up very well. For 9.99 this is a STEAL and I’d recommend it! We loved ours!

Not great tools. I didn’t want to make a big investment in a thing I would probably use only once a year, so I got what I paid for. One of the tools broke on my first use. I still made an outstanding Jack-I-lantern, so…mission accomplished! The set will probably be good for one or two more Halloweens.

The blades and scoop were awesome, but the wood handled tools left a bit to be desired. One came apart right away. Nothing a little epoxy won't fix. I plan to put an edge on the wire ends to make them a bit more effective.
