I am looking for the bowl that subway uses it is poly and hard for chopping

That's exactly what I was searching for when OI ordered the OXO Good Grips Salad Chopper and Bowl. It looks a tiny bit different from the one at Subway but it is virtually the same bowl and chopper. My daughter works part time at Subway and she has used the one there as well as the one we have and she says there is no difference.

Are the blades sharp enough to cut up most semi hard veges and nuts?

This choppers real main drawback is the proximity of the blades. Large pieces or hard veggies like broccoli will get caught between the blades. The blades are more than sharp enough to chop hard veggies and nuts, but they get clogged often. When I purchased this, I was looking for a chopper similar to what you would see used at Subway, however, I have yet to find a consumer chopper that works as advertised.

Is this plastic bowl BPA free? also, is it me or the stainless steel blades against plastic can peel off the plastic into the salad?

has anyone used this to chop celery?

Yes my husband used it to chop celery for Thanksgiving. It worked like a charm...no issues!
