I buy charcoal water filters for many years as they are eco friendly, you can use it in almost any bottle and they don't have plastic (only a wrap of course, so they arrive at their destination in proper condition, no moist) as those you change every month. And they never disappointed me. The water taste is always good and they last a lot, as you change them every six months, boiling half way after using it for three months. So for this reason they are also value for money. I can't recommend enough.

If you are thinking about going on the reduce waste route. This is ideal. With brita it does the job but this is one of the natural methods filtering the water as well. This packaging is cardboard and recyclable plastic so the design is environmental friendly/conscience). There is no smell and one stick lasts for 6 months. You just have to reactivate it by boiling it in water when the 3 month hits and reuse the same stick for the remaining 3 months. So when youre buying this 4 pack, it lasts for 2 years. The size is enough for a resusable 2 litre water bottle. Once you have finished with, you can deodorizer shoes or even the fridge... or use it to fertilise the garden.

The activated charcoal filter seems to improve the taste and my tap water tastes cleaner and fresher. it's really simple and effective and no more plastic waste. I wish I had learned about these charcoal sticks earlier. Upon reflection they make sense - instead of passing water just once through the crushed charcoal of a plastic filter, I can leave these charcoal sticks in my water pitcher for an extended period, where they have ample time to absorb as many impurities as possible. I use two stainless steel pitchers; I keep the pitcher containing the charcoa sticks filled with tap water, and I periodically pour this cleansed water into a second pitcher for use. This enables me to always have a large amount of cold, well-filtered water on hand while more is being cleansed. Also, the charcoal sticks don't leave any powdered residue in the water, in case you were wondering. I can often smell chlorine in my tap water, and the charcoal sticks completely remove any trace of it from scent or taste. My water is now delicious, I'm not dumping plastic filters into the trash, and my water doesn't sit for days in a dodgy plastic container. I love the simplicity and effectiveness of these charcoal sticks.
