Works great.
Got this to keep puppy out of living room. Being adjustable and with the extra extension piece, it fit perfectly and very snugly between the door frames. Easy installation. There is no door where it's being used, just an extra wide entrance. It opens with with a little spring slide button and snaps shut. The arched design makes it attractive and not so "cagey" looking. Well satisfied.

Dog says: this gate is the worst (but The Mama loves it!)
I'm just a little puppy and I've been super busy exploring my new house. For some reason The Mama does not think I need to be upstairs where there's tons of stuff for me to get into. I have no idea what she's so worried about. I just like to explore everything with my teeth. The Mama bought this gate as a solution to keep me on the main floor where everybody can see me unless they go upstairs with me. Well I'm here to tell you this gate is dumb. It works exactly like she wanted it to and keeps me from going upstairs with all my people. She said putting it together was pretty easy and she loved the instructions because they came with pictures showing different configurations for the gate. Clearly they worked because it fits beautifully and I'm STUCK outside of it.I mean sure, it looks really pretty and is super sturdy (I DEFINITELY can't knock it down...I've tried) she even bought these little extension things to make it even more stable. The latch works perfectly when my sisters remember to do it. Every now and then they leave it open and I can escape up the stairs!I don't recommend this gate AT ALL but The Mama does- she says it looks super nice and is made of high quality materials. She also says the price is a great insurance policy to prevent me from being in places I'm not supposed to be destroying things or eating them and having to have them surgically removed. I say it's lame.

Annoying Install
This is our 2nd gate which we’re putting at the top of our stairs. I would have bought the exact same gate I got the first time but I needed an extra wide one.I honestly don’t love it but it’s satisfactory.Things that are annoying:1. It tells you to face it a certain direction if at the top of the stairs, which is a counter intuitive direction because you need to pull it open vs. push it open. It also has two HUGE warning labels painted on... so you can’t even pick them off, on the side that is showing to my living room. Not aesthetically pleasing at all.2. The install was also a pain. I experienced the same problems others had - not lining up, not latching correct, but I knew it was because of the install so I just had to keep tweaking it until I finally got it right. I had to really sit there and think about how to fix my particular issue. I would tighten the side and then it would be too much but then loosen and it wouldn’t latch. So I finally realized if I got the one side close then tightened the other that it would latch properly. So problem solved, but the instructions don’t indicate at all “if this is the problem, then do this”. The troubleshooting is very generic.3. This is a button and lift to open gate. Our other is just button which is so much easier especially with baby in hand but this gate will see less traffic so I’m just going to deal with it.So just beware, the gate isn’t broken. It’s just not installed correctly if it doesn’t latch right. The instructions do say that, that’s part of why I knew to keep trying... it was just... annoying.

It’s not Defective!
I was so close to calling and complaining because like others, it wouldn’t come together and latch. But I could tell I was missing something. All u have to do is use the tool that comes with it to continue tightening each side until they come together. It seems like it fits without tightening it, that’s why I couldn’t figure out wth was happening- but then I decided to use the tool and voila- it fit together finally! It’s the best purchase I’ve made in a while bc it keeps my dogs contained without having to step over something each time. Also, if u have baseboards and it’s not working, just put the gate right above them- it’s usually not enough space for anything to get out.

It works, if you install it correctly.
I bought this to keep a new puppy out of a certain area of the house and needed this to stretch over 51.5''. The door is off center when installing but will straighten out and meet the other side of the gate once the right amount of pressure/tightening is used! You can see the gap lessen the more you tighten it, and it is a bit of pressure there. I have bumped into it a couple of times and the puppy has jumped on it trying to follow me and it has not budged. All aspects of the lock worked at well. You have to pull the tab on top, lift the gate and then push. The automatically closing part doesn't work that well, it tends to get close to closing back but stops short. Some reviewers had issues with the gate bending when using all 3 extensions; I have had no issue with this and it may be the set up they used. There are instructions that come with (diagram in photos) and give you the different ways you can put the extensions on. If you put them on in an order not recommended, bending may occur. I have been using all 3 extensions and had no issues with.

This Baby Gate is Puppy Proof!
We had a wooden gate at the top of our stairway to stop our Sheltie pup from going downstairs and eating all of our cat's food. The puppy figured out how to slide the wooden gate open! This gate is much nicer looking, and it is puppy proof! It was also really nice that we could order the perfect size for our opening. The wooden gate was not wide enough so my husband zip-tied four 2/4's to the newel post to make it fit. It looked hideous!

Easy install
Got this to keep my big dog at the top of the stairs so he wouldn't scratch the door up but would still have space from guests because he is a rescue and gets anxious, especially around wrestling and high energy kid play. Went in like a breeze, nice tight fit. The hardest part was getting it up the stairs honestly because it's three pieces and the tension from install is what keeps those together. This is a great price for the size of the gate.
