My 100lb Catahoula fit in there fine by himself with little room to spare. It might work but it will be uncomfortable for them. **Q: Would this fit in a small pickup?** A: Measure the distance between the wheel wells and if they are 48 inches apart the canopy will fit. We designed the canopy at 48 inches so it would fit most trucks. **Q: I am thinking about this for a long bed pick up with a 5th wheel hitch, and using this flush against the cab. It's a 2017 Chevy 3500hd Crew long bed?** A: The canopy I have is about about 4 ft. deep, you'll want at least 10-12in of space between the fifth wheel and the canopy, in my 2016 Tacoma long bed pickup, the canopy protrudes to the front of the wheel wells. We took our dog in our truck on a trip through the desert in the fall. The shade was much nicer for him than just being in the sun all day while driving. The padding under his feet helped, too. My only complaints are that one of the hooks that goes under the lip of the truck bed was sewn in backwards so the strap had to be twisted to get it to fit. Then, during the trip, one of the hooks (a different one) came off the strap. I had to put it back on and tie a knot in the strap to get it to work. It now functions, but it isn't pretty and probably won't hold forever.
