charger works great!
Stand by. This might get a little long. The turnaround to get the charger was quick. I ordered on a Saturday and it arrived on Tuesday. Scheduled installation of a 240V outlet. No problems there. I needed customer support to help get it registered. The app works great, but... When installing and setting up your account, make sure that you select the proper country. Yeah, I know, but I was at the dealer buying my car and I might have been a little distracted. This was the root cause of my issues. I had to create a new account with a different email address to complete setup. Here are some of the things to keep in mind. If you use a VPN, you might want to set it up by turning off wifi on your phone and setting it up as a hot spot. Then connect your EVSE to your hotspot to complete the setup. Once complete, you can change it back to your home network. Don't forget to turn off the hot spot when you are done. Conducted a quick charge to test out. Charged from 60-90% in just over 2 hours. The charge rate was 9.6kW or ~40 amps. This compares to the 6kW (32a) that is available at work. Work charging is free, so that is nice. If you want more than 40amps, you will need to hard wire it. I didn't go this way because a hard wired installation requires permits in my state. Anyway, I am happy with the charger so far, it is fairly easy to use, it is well built, app integration is good and if you have a 240v outlet available, you only have to mount it with 3 screws. Mount it to a stud and you are golden. I hope this was helpful and I would recommend this EVSE to anyone.

Hard to beat
There are a lot of EV home chargers out there, including the ones that are included in the trunk of most Electric Vehicles, so I did my homework before I ultimately decided on this one, and in my opinion, it's the best one on the market. The main reasons I decided on this one are it's flexible power rating, and software. PROS: 1. Flexible Power Rating. You can plug this into a 240 volt power outlet with a choice of two plugs, OR have it hard wired by a professional. You can get more power when it's hard wired and the output can vary depending on the size of your circuit breaker. It can be configured with breakers ranging from 20 to 80 Amps. The higher the Amps, the more power you can draw, giving you more miles of power per hour. Mine is configured with a 60 Amp circuit breaker, so I can get about 37 miles each hour... which is amazing. 2. Software. I LOVE their App because it's easy to configure the charger (plug vs hard wired, amps, make / model of your car, etc.), and it tracks all your charging activity at home AND when using other ChargePoint chargers on the road. Not only that, it even lets you track costs based on your regional electric company and plan. This is IMPORTANT... I learned that most electric companies offer off-peak pricing and their App can schedule your charges after hours when the price drops dramatically. In New York City for example, the price drops from about 25 cents per KWh to 1.6 cents between 12am and 8am. That 8 hour window is plenty of time to fully charge most EVs, so it's literally 15 TIMES CHEAPER. With that in mind, the App can tell you exactly how much you've spent on charging using each pricing plan your electric company offers so you can see the exact amount you saved by switching to time of day billing. 3. I love the MAPS feature. This may sound odd for a home charger, but that's the real advantage of this particular company. They offer a huge network of chargers across the country, and I can use the same exact App to not only track my charging at home and on the road, but I now use the App via Apple CarPlay to find the nearest chargers when I'm on the road. They show you exactly where all their chargers are, but just about every charger network out there, including pricing, power ratings, availability, distance, and directions. 4. EXCELLENT US Customer Service. I had a few questions before I had it installed, so I called their customer service and within a couple of minutes had an great conversation with one of their support people. He understood my questions and answered them clearly. CONS - None, except it's a bit more expensive than some other companies. In my opinion, it's worth every cent. The entire experience has been outstanding. Simply stated, this is a no-brainer. The low power home chargers they include with your EV are really meant for travel, so leave them in your car and get one of these. I felt so great pulling up to my driveway, and simply plugging in.

A beautiful upgrade
There are so many benefits to this charger that I appreciate. One primary one I didn't realize was included is that the app can look up your electric rates for an amazing number of power providers, including my municipal DWP. This allows it to calculate charging costs based on your specific usage rates. That means ALL my charging at home and work is tracked in the same app for a real TCO for my vehicle. Installing the charger was straight forward. I watched the installation video and followed the included install guide and ran into zero issues. The only two issues I ran into were the paper drilling template is a bit off. The top hanging bolt is a bit low for where the two lower mounting bolts line up. This isn't an issue for me as the charger is bolted to a heavy stud, but it was interesting that it was about 1/4 inch off from the hanging hole. The other issue is related to my NEMA 6-50 outlet location (I have the plugin model). I had a previous EV charger installed that plugged in behind the charger (Siemens VersiCharge). This means my outlet was installed at about chest height on the wall. The ChargePoint charger has a bottom mounted wall plug, so my charger is now rather high on my wall. This is entirely due to my previous outlet location and is not a fault of the charger. It actually works out well since there's enough hanging slack on the cable to plug in my car and not have to coil/uncoil cable every day. TL;DR - Great charger, tons of understated features, installs like a breeze.

Customer Support for this product is abysmal
When the product works, it works well and seems to be a decent product. If you have issues with it and have to contact support for a replacement, that's where the company fails utterly. Networking on our device failed a month ago. I called support then and went through all their troubleshooting steps and they determined we needed a replacement and referred the case to their level two support team who were supposed to contact me within 48 hours. They never did. Nor did the first person fully document in the case notes that all the troubleshooting steps had been done. Chargepoint says that the device will still charge even without a network connection, but what they do not make clear is that it will charge at the lowest possible speed in that case. I could use the 120v charger that came with the car and get the same results. I had to call back after a couple of weeks and open a new case with them since they didn't move the original case forward. The phone tech understood that I had completed all the troubleshooting steps previously in the first case and pushed the case to level 2. One step I did try during the second call was to unplug and replug the device. It didn't power back on during the call and I told the tech this, and he noted it in the case. The unit miraculously powered on the following day. This was the only time level 2 support reached out to us and it was to tell us that we hadn't done the troubleshooting steps (because the device didn't power on). So I called a third time and went through all the troubleshooting again. They confirmed the device's networking wasn't working (which was the original issue), notated that we completed all the troubleshooting, and pushed it to level 2 support for a replacement (which is what the tech on the very first call did). Level 2 support was supposed to contact me in 48 hours with details about the replacement. Five days later, I still hadn't been contacted by them, so I called in again and had the case escalated. I was told I'd be contacted within 2 hours. After two days I still hadn't heard from level 2 support so I called in again, and was told it was escalated again. I asked to speak to Level 2 support but was told they don't have phone access. I asked to speak to a supervisor who told me the case has been escalated and that level 2 support would contact me. This wasn't acceptable to me so i pushed for an explanation. It appears that they are having "supply chain" issues and do not have any replacements to ship, nor do they know when some will be available. That at least is an answer which is something that should have been communicated to us by level 2 support at some point over the past month, but wasn't. So I have a device that barely works, that they agreed should be replaced but they have no idea when they will be able to replace it. This makes me wonder how they would be able to fulfill any new orders for the product. Honestly, if we weren't already invested in this device and they weren't so expensive, I'd cut our losses and get something different. As it is we are stuck with this unless we want to drop a bunch of money on a different provider. The thing worked fine for most of a year, but at this price point, this shouldn't be something that only lasts a year.

Great charger
I recently purchased the ChargePoint Home Flex Electric Vehicle charger and have been quite pleased with it. Initially, I ordered it with the plug, but I ended up having my electrician hardwire it for a more permanent installation. One of the standout features of the ChargePoint Home Flex is its versatility. Whether you choose to plug it in or hardwire it, it offers a great degree of flexibility to suit your charging needs. I appreciate the adaptability it provides, making it a valuable addition to my electric vehicle charging setup. Another aspect I really like is how quick and easy it is to get the charging process started. The user interface and controls are intuitive, allowing me to initiate the charging process effortlessly. It saves me time and hassle, which is a big plus for an EV owner. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my ChargePoint Home Flex Electric Vehicle charger. Its adaptability and ease of use make it a fantastic addition to my home charging setup, and I would recommend it to others looking for a reliable and user-friendly EV charging solution.

ChargePoint HomeFlex: Fast, Smart, and Reliable Home EV Charging (with One Small Hiccup)
We couldn’t be more pleased with our ChargePoint HomeFlex Level 2 EV Charger (J1772, NEMA 6-50 Plug) — it’s been a game-changer for our electric vehicle charging routine. This unit is fast, smart, and extremely reliable, delivering all the convenience and efficiency we were hoping for in a home charging solution. Installation & Setup: The installation was mostly smooth. We opted to hardwire ours with the NEMA 6-50 plug configuration, and the process took about 90 minutes. One small hiccup: a minor mounting screw and a plastic wall anchor were missing from the box. It wasn’t a big deal — we were able to pick up what we needed for a couple of bucks at Home Depot, and we were back on track in no time. It would’ve been nice if all the small parts were included, but honestly, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Charging Performance: The charging speed is excellent. We’re seeing up to 37 miles of range per hour, which is more than enough for overnight charging and then some. The adjustable amperage settings are a great feature, especially if you’re sharing the circuit with other appliances or planning to upgrade later. Smart Features: The app is sleek and intuitive — we love being able to schedule charging, track our usage, and see cost breakdowns by time of use. It even integrates with Alexa, which has been a fun bonus (“Alexa, is the car charging?” has become a surprisingly frequent question in our home). Build Quality: The unit itself feels sturdy and weatherproof. We installed it in our garage, but it definitely looks like it could handle outdoor conditions without issue. The cord is long and flexible, and the plug holster is solid and secure — no sagging or awkward angles when docking the charger. Final Thoughts: Despite the tiny hiccup with the missing install part, this EV charger earns a full 5 stars from us. It’s fast, dependable, and smart — everything we could’ve asked for. We’re confident it will support us through many years and several electric vehicles to come. If you’re in the market for a future-proof, easy-to-use home charger, this is a top-tier choice.

Very pleased - Read and do homework regarding 50a charging claims
Great charger that does what it's supposed to, the wifi app integration is nice but I admittedly do not use it that much though the best part is the alert that can be set to notify your phone if not plugged in by a specific time, this has saved my rear a few times. That aside the construction is great and the footprint small....one of the main reason I chose this charger the others are like having a full blown refrigerator sized transformer inside your garage on the wall, no thanks. The cord is honestly way too long but whatever its good quality basically same as you have come to expect from a commercial chargepoint charger. The station is attractive and while it has plastic parts it seems sturdy and aside from running right into it with your car or something it should be fine. NOW for those who purchased this and failed to read or research the 50a claims...while the charger does come with a plug in outlet cord as specified that is good only to 40a, IF you choose to use this pug in outlet method you are restricted to 40a charging as you cannot safely push 50a through the nema plugs they offer. IF you want to use the 50a charging you have to direct hard wire the station to your panel with a 60a or 70a 240v breaker. I chose a 70a breaker with 6awg wire to allow for some margin room and to sleep better at night without of fear of burning down my home. Aside from this there are many other considerations including your panel capacity, length of run, service rating and capacity etc... If you don't know what you are doing get a professional and do not take my review as guidance or advice, the safety of you and your family and your home aren't worth cutting corners to save time or money. Do what is right not what is easy or cheap.

A nice charging unit
I purchased this to as a car charging unit for a new car that we bought. We installed a new panel with a 50 amp breaker for maximum charging capability. Worked as described for about three months and then encountered some charging problems. I called the number for service and the people were very easy to deal with. I describe my problem and they sent out a new replacement right away. I had our electrician install the new cable and box. There were some difficulty in establishing an Internet connection with my device and so I was unable to charge at the maximum capability. The new unit charges the car in about four 25 hours from 30% to 80%. This is perfect for overnight charging. I’m removing one star only for the fact that I paid to have the 50 amp breaker put in and I’m only charging at about 40 amp capacity. Other than this issue, I’m very happy with the charger.
