I was just going to buy another shop light, but started to take it apart and discovered the little metal balls and narrow wire are easy to break. Especially if you pull at a 90 degree angle which I did. New piece was easily installed and it works fine and only $3. I now try to pull at an angle to the side.

This was a replacement for a non-working switch on our ceiling fan. The switch was basically the same as the original. The only difference of note was that the wire pig tails were about three inches shorter than the original. Fortunately the pigtails were long enough for installation in my fan. The delivery of the switch was prompt. As with a lot of reviews it is too early to tell anything about the durability of the product.

Exact replacement. Just a tip if you're not versed in electricity- if you don't have a tester you need to shut off the circuit to replace this part. It's possible that the fan and light are on different supplies, depending on the wiring method. Just having the switch off isn't enough to protect yourself. You could easily have the hot to the fixture/fan that would still be live. The new switch is a perfect replacement for the unit I was replacing.
