Does the gel dry on the skin ?

It absorbs, more than I would say that it dries. If it does dry to any extent, it is completely unnoticeable.

What's the difference between this and the MG217 ointment?

The ointment is thicker and more oily. If that's a word. It's almost as if no matter how much you rub, the ointment never rubs in. The gel can be rubbed in.

Does the gel work as well as the ointment? If so, under what circumstances would the ointment be preferable to the gel?

Both the ointment and the gel worked equally well for me!!

Why isn't this available anymore? Can't find it anywhere and it's the only product that offered me any relief.
