Batteries are always hit or miss
Knowing what I know now, batteries are always going to be hit or miss. I can use multiple sets of Duracell batteries and one set will last twice as long as the other set. Now, with the set that I received here, I use it on a trash can sensor, they've lasted more than 2 weeks so far so I'm happy about that. One thing you need to make sure of is, don't use the batteries until it's out of juice. If you do that too much, it'll stop recharging, the way to fix this is you'll need to touch a good battery with a bad battery on the + ends of the battery, then have a metal wire touching both -(minus) ends for 30 seconds which will give it a bit of charge so the charger recognizes the battery.

Looking Good for Standby Service
I bought a 4-pack of AmazonBasics NiMH Low Self-Discharge C Cells in 2019 Oct for standby service: they'll allow extended use of my 2 C cell flashlight in case of prolonged power failure or other need. Note that when I purchased, the product page did not make any mention of low self-discharge; I inferred and hoped that would be the case, and it has proven so. The product page was later updated to mention low self-discharge. The cells I received had been manufactured in 2019 Jul. Note the manufacturing date was (lightly) stamped into, not printed onto, the labels. Favorable lighting angle and a bit of scrutiny (OK, I "cheated" and used a magnifying glass...) can be required for reading. I used an AccuPower IQ-338XL battery analyzer to test the cells on receipt and again after about 16.5 weeks of storage. The results have been excellent, implying these will serve my purpose well. The comparatively low price is a nice bonus. On receipt, the cells delivered an average of 3.6 A*h, about 73% of their rated 5 A*h capacity. Maximum cell-to-cell variation was 4.5%. Freshly charged, the cells delivered an average of 5.2 A*h, or nearly 104% of rated capacity. Maximum cell-to-cell variation was 4.8%. After about 16.5 weeks storage, the cells delivered an average of 4.6 A*h, about 92% of rated capacity. So yes, they are indeed low self-discharge (LSD) and exhibiting very good initial charge retention. Note that LSD NiMH cells typically exhibit higher self-discharge in the initial weeks after charging before settling to their longer-term much slower self-discharge rates. These cells did a nice (excellent?) job of initial charge retention. Oh, and maximum cell-to-cell capacity variation was 4.7%. Nice. The cells accepted in the range of 103% to 111% of rated capacity when charged from "empty" (had been discharged to about 0.9 V/cell), and my IQ-338XL had no difficulty properly terminating charge of any of these cells. The small differences between accepted and delivered capacities show good efficiencies at the modest currents (500 mA discharge, 1.5 A charge) applied via the IQ-338XL. So, my testing has shown these are just what I wanted and they're working well.

Quick delivery, cost effective
Intro: Item: "Amazon Basics 4-Pack Rechargeable C Cell NiMH Batteries, 5000 mAh, Recharge up to 1000x". I purchased (Amazon) and charged these Amazon C batteries with "XTAR VC4SL Battery Charger and Included QC3.0 Adapter" I had problems charging these batteries when they arrived, therefore I am including my charging problems and remedies, below. Obviously, other chargers may act differently. After reading the reviews for both the batteries and the charger, I realized that the charging process takes some hours, and that 4 batteries would probably take around 24+ hours, therefore I charged my Amazon C batteries, 2 at a time. Since I had 8 batteries, I was able to make sure that all charger slots would work by charging the pairs in different slots. Con: There are too many charging modes and choices to understand without spending a lot of time studying, only to forget within a few weeks before the next recharging. (The instructions on line and also printed, are abysmal). After I simply inserted for charging my 8 Amazon "5,000mAh" C batteries, (in pairs), I was ready to yell because they only reached roughly 1,400mAH Pro: HOWEVER, the charger's 800# support phone is GREAT! Support was patient and good in all respects. Eventually, I was told to click the little retangular rubber "mode" button until "CHG" showed up on the screen, and then charged my batteries (a slow but automatic full process of charge, discharge, charge). This was successful and all of my 8 Amazon "5,000mAh" C batteries reached roughly "5,000mAh".

Try as soon as you buy
Garbage. If you're looking to gamble and buy these, make sure you try them asap so you can return them before the 30 days is up. I bought them in anticipation of the current batteries in my auto card shuffler getting too weak to work. I bought them two and a half months ago. However I didn't get a single use out of them. After charging them, I put them in the shuffler but it wouldn't run. When I use two of the Amazon batteries with two of the old Duracell, the shuffler runs without any cards but is too weak to run with cards. This tells me the Amazon batteries have very little to no power. I couldn't even exchange them since it was past 30 days, even though Amazon seems to indicate they may be replaceable through April 7, 2026. If defective isn't a qualification, I'd like to know what would be.

best getest
diverse merken getest waaronder ook Duracel en Varta. Deze steken er kop en schouders bovenuit. Al 2 jaar doen ze wat ze moeten een gaan duidelijk langer mee dan alle concurrenten. Aanrader dus.

Rechargeable batteries
Good batteries, had some charge in them when delivered. Take about 8 hours to charge fully using the power owl charger. Saves me so much money, not having to buy batteries for my daughter’s toys. Last about the same time as regular batteries before needing to be charged up.
