Effective and easy to take
Iโve been using these Natrol Melatonin tablets for a while now, and they are my go-to for sleep support. The "fast dissolve" feature really worksโitโs convenient because you donโt need water to take them, and they act quickly to help me wind down. The strawberry flavor is pleasant and not overly medicinal. Most importantly, I donโt feel any grogginess or "hangover" effect the next morning, which is a huge plus. The 200-count bottle is also a fantastic value for a daily supplement. Highly recommend if you're looking for a reliable way to help reset your sleep schedule!

Switched from Unisom
I am kind of surprised this stuff is working. Iโve had to take Unisom for years. I am trying to get away from it because a pharmacist mentioned thereโs some studies that shows that medicine contributes to dementia! Compared to Unisom, 1. I am staying asleep longer. 2. When I do wake up to use the restroom, Iโm immediately able to go back to sleep. 3. I donโt feel drugged in the morning. 4. It makes my sleepy faster than Unisom. 5. Thereโs mixed reviews on whether or not Melatonin is good for us, but dementia isnโt a concern. 6. Tastes nice!

Works and Tastes Great
My husband and I both take this melatonin before bed. I always struggle with sleep issues. We both like the taste of Natrol and it absolutely works for us in around 30 minutes. We have tried a couple of other products, but the taste was not good like this one.

Works well for travel and jet lag, not a hard knockout
I mainly use these Natrol 5mg fast dissolve tablets for international travel. I take one when I board the plane and then for the first couple of nights after landing. It helps me get drowsy enough to sleep on the flight and makes it easier to adjust to the new time zone. Itโs not a knockout pill. It just makes you more drowsy and helps you stay asleep longer when youโre restless or dealing with jet lag. At home I only use it occasionally. If I take it right before bed it works fine, but if I take it in the middle of the night I usually feel a bit groggy the next morning. The strawberry flavor is decent and the fast dissolve is convenient. 200 count is a solid amount for occasional travel use. Good option if you need light sleep support for flights and jet lag rather than a strong nightly sleep aid.

Success! 20 years of research, experiments and now, melatonin works!
For me that is. 20 years ago I tried melatonin and it didn't work. Discouraged, I went on to other things like hot milk. That didn't work either. It turns out melatonin is synthesized from serotonin. And if you are low on serotonin then of course your melatonin levels will be even lower . For those who may be depressed, low serotonin levels is almost a given. Is it coincidence, that my sleep became much much worse when I became very depressed? So if you're not sleeping well because your serotonin levels are low and you're not producing melatonin. Then using melatonin in pills may help. I had to fix my depression first before the melatonin would really work. There's no research to back this up, but I believe you need both serotonin and melatonin to sleep well . Melatonin to set your circadian rhythm, and serotonin to get you relaxed enough that you can go to sleep. I managed to raise my serotonin levels by taking inositol or vitamin B8. However, tinkering with your serotonin levels is not without danger. You may want to try chamomile tea or lemon balm tea . Dr. Low Dog lectured on these herbs as well . They are excellent for anxiety , the trick is to drink 3 to 4 cups per day every day until they start working. They are safe. There is no record of any safety issue with these in the history of US herbal safety or more importantly European herbal safety . The Europeans used herbs more extensively and have kept better records for much longer But wait, I'm not done yet. There are many other causes of insomnia. I got scientific about it. I attended a lecture by Dr. Low Dog who is an herbalist and an MD, which was aimed at medical doctors who wanted to incorporate herbs in their clinical practice. She explained that night owls have an upside down cortisol pattern. Night owls have low cortisol in the morning and cannot wake up, are groggy and grumpy. Later in the day their cortisol levels rise and continue to rise as the night advances into the wee hours. They are literally too stimulated to sleep. An upside down cortisol pattern, would explain why my body temperature rises as the night advances until by midnight I'm sweating like a pig. Every body else, their body temperature drops as the night advances. So I tried her advice, take 1500 mg of Ashwagandha root powder three or four times a day for four weeks solid. It took me close to seven or eight weeks, but finally I started getting sleepy at night. Since I was still going to bed at 2 AM in the morning, I decided I better try the melatonin again and see if it would work now that the cortisol pattern had been corrected. And it did ! But the melatonin I purchased initially, which was a 10 mg pill, was way too strong. Quite a change from 20 years ago, when swallowing abnormal numbers of pills failed. Took the pill two hours before bedtime. Day one slept 12 hours Days two through four. Slept a short number of hours about six Day five slept closed to 12 hours. Repeat the cycle. After two weeks of trying , I became rather afraid of taking the pill because I might sleep 12 hours. However, the cycles were getting shorter with fewer nights of short sleep. And it was abundantly clear the melatonin was keeping me asleep. I ordered more melatonin in smaller doses, and this is the one that finally worked the best for me. 5 mg quick dissolve will put me to sleep for 12 hours. but I can cut the pill in half and I will sleep only eight hours. Since I have health issues, I like having the larger pill which I can cut to a reasonable size and tune my hours of sleep. The next time, someone says to me "Just go to sleep" I have an awful lot of scalding hot milk that I will suddenly know what to do with. They better like biochemistry. Phooey!
