These are my favorite pants to wear for work or just for casual. Pockets are regular with a knife pocket in the front. Fits comfortable. Value for the money. I had mine for like a few years before they started ripping.

First time trying relaxed fit. Great quality Jean but fit too big in the waist and legs. Will go back to regular fit just for preference and not due to the quality of the jean. They were a good price for the purchase just not my new style.

Just wish Ariat didn't insist on measuring the leg length on their work, outdoor, and casual jeans using the same moon-units they do for their riding wear Pros: Great fit -mostly Extremely durable Great material - comfortable and holds up to wear Look pretty darn good Cons: Leg length measurements only make sense if they're measured for someone wearing riding/cowboy boots and seated in a saddle. Given where Ariat made their name, I guess I'm not too suprised: but these are billed as a more regular line of work and outdoor jeans. I was not expecting every pair I ordered to require 3 inches of adjustments on the legs. My 32" length pairs were cut like other brands similarly styled 40" length offerings. They're still the best jeans I've ever owned and I am able to adjust them - so for me this is a minor gripe. It just seems like such a silly way to make a product with appeal to people beyond their riding wear possibly very frustrating to buy online. It's not like its done to cut costs or corners, they're giving away extra inches of high quality denim that people aren't meaning to but.

These bad boys can withstand anything I throw at them - I've worn them on construction sites, on horseback, and even while wrangling cattle (okay, that last one might be a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point). But seriously, these jeans are made with durable Durastretch fabric that can withstand just about anything. They're also super comfortable and stretchy, which is great for when I need to do a little extra bending and stretching on the job. But the best part? The pockets. Oh boy, the pockets. They're big enough to hold just about anything I need on the job - my tape measure, my drill, even a sandwich (hey, a man's gotta eat). In short, if you're looking for a pair of jeans that can keep up with your active lifestyle, look no further than the ARIAT M5 jeans! They're like a trusty sidekick that you can wear on your lower half. Plus, you'll look stylish too!!

The denim seems to be a great balance of stretch and durability for my liking. Mostly durable with a little bit of stretch for comfort. I have had more comfortable jeans with more stretch, but they don't last very long, and these are still going strong after a year and a half. I usually wear 31x30 jeans, but for some reason they don't offer that size, so I am wearing 30x30. They stretch enough that I can wear them, but they are a bit tighter than I usually like, especially if I have stuff in the pockets. However, my wife says she likes the way my butt looks, so maybe being tighter is not such a bad thing... Based on other reviews, I may be in the minority here, but the pockets are the major downfall of these jeans. The main pockets are fine, but I can't stand the "change" pocket and the "knife" pocket. The change pocket is way too deep. It is a bit too tight to easily fit my whole hand, and it is too deep to reach anything with thumb and forefinger. I have to reach into the main pocket and work through the fabric to push my change up to the top of the pocket where I can grab it. If I put anything bigger in the change pocket that would be easier to grab, then it sits too low and overlaps with whatever I have in the main pocket, which makes it bulge badly. The knife pocket sounds like a good idea because I always carry a pocket knife, but in reality it makes it much harder to stow and retrieve my knife with only one hand. I have to dig around for the opening to put the knife away, and when I want to pull out my knife, I end up grabbing the pocket and not the knife. It also creates an uncomfortable seam in the middle of the main pocket that scrapes the back of my hand. I would much rather have a reinforced hem than a whole extra pocket. I eventually got so fed up with the pockets that I got out my wife's sewing machine and "fixed" them. I cut out and completely removed the knife pocket. Then I sewed a straight line across the change pocket to reduce the depth from 5-6" to about 2.5". Now I love these jeans. I have since purchased several more pairs, but I modified them right off the bat. YMMV depending on what you keep in your pockets, but they need a little work to be great.

These jeans don't have to be your exact size. I am a little over my normal weight (about 5-7lbs over), and otherwise/normally wear a 32wx32L -for the past 20yrs. These jeans stretch to accommodate my new waist size, and let me avoid moving up to a comfortable 34" waist. I love that... because I refuse to admit that I'm a little fat right now. These jeans are awesome!
