Seller may send you a T7
I’m sure the drive is great, but the seller sent me a T7 instead of a T5. So I returned it. The T7 is probably better than the T5 given its nomenclature, but I needed the T5.

Samsung software bad; loose connectio
USB-C to USB-C connection is not tight and easily pulls away from the Mac USB-C port. A little scotch tape fixes that, still, when you connect, a window pops up saying that you had not disconnected properly the last time. (Thanks!). Now the Samsung software is telling me that the disc is disconnected, despite it's being shown as mounted. Tried to do a fresh download of the Samsung software, but that isn't working either; despite using an uninstaller to get rid of the incumbent, I get a message saying that the old software is still there, and the new one cannot be installed. All I want is a disc without some stupid software 'adding' functionality. Could use as a paperweight, but it may be too light.

Keep your laptop uncluttered
I use these for storing video files that would otherwise clog up my laptop. Super fast and universal (I use direct from camera and on my Mac for storing files and even backing up the system).

T5 is the ultimate one
I purchased a T5 SSD 1TB version after my friends and few YouTube channels recommended it to be the best portable SSD. I ordered it on 13th June at around 1 PM and was promised delivery by 14th June 9PM. As Amazon is most of the times ahead of the estimated delivery, I received the product on 14th June at around 11 AM. Now, coming to the product, I will mention each and every details minutely, so that you get a clear idea whether or not to purchase this one. Build Quality: When it comes to build quality, Samsung's T5 is the best, I would say. I also have one Sandisk Ultimate SSD 500GB version. This T5 is of aluminium build and offers a sturdy build quality. Samsung claims that, if it is dropped from 6ft height, no data loss would occur. But my suggestion is that, please don't intentionally drop this, and use it carefully after all, it comes at Rs 15k almost. The Sandisk one has a plastic matte finish and that one also has a good build quality, but this T5 comes. with a premium feeling when holding it. So, 5 stars for build quality. Design: In terms of design, T5 is also a very nice pick. The SSD is much more smaller than a Credit card, lengthwise and in terms of thickness, it is similar to a mobile phone battery. It feels lighter in hand, and can fit in any trouser pocket, or small space easily. The Sandisk one is a little bit longer, lengthwise, and thickness is lesser than T5. Moreover, you get an opening for attaching it to a bag. Again 5 stars to T5 for the design. Connectivity: When you will connect the T5 to any laptop or MacBook for the first time, you will need to download the Samsung Portable SSD for setting the password. The software to be downloaded is already present in the SSD, you just need to be connected to the internet for the download to complete. In the Sandisk one, I did not find any software to be downloaded, when I connected it to my Mac. In this T5, when I connected the SSD for the first time to my MacBook, I was getting an error message that the software version is not compatible with my MacOS version. As a result, I had to download the updated version from Samsung Website to my Mac for setting the password. After connecting it for the first time to my Windows laptop, the software downloaded without any error. Again a 5 star to T5. Security: Encryption in T5 is also commendable. Every time, you connect the T5 to your system, you will need to enter the password that you had set at the time of software download. Otherwise, your SSD will only be read-only and you will not be able to write anything. In case, you forget the password, factory reset is only one option, and all your data stored will be lost. I could not find any. such encryption in the Sandisk one. Again 5 stars to T5 for security. Speed: Speed is an important thing which matters,. when it comes to SSD. I transferred files of total 10.56 GB from my Mac to the T5. The speed was approximately 785 MB/s when connected using USB C. When connected using USB 3.1, I got a speed of 692 MB/s. I did not test for the Sandisk one.Again 5 stars to T5. Packaging: Packaging also matters when it comes to premium products. The T5 was nicely packed, with one USB c to USB C and one USB A to USB C cable inside the box. Sandisk provided only one USB C to USB C cable with a USB C to USB A adapter. 5 stars to Samsung for this one. Final Review: All the features of the product are top notch and so it deserves 5 stars. But, quality comes at a price. I believe, the price is a little bit high, the price should be around Rs 10,000- Rs 11,000. When you go for a 2TB variant, you have to pay Rs 30,999, which is huge jump from Rs 15,000. I believe, you can make out from this review, whether or not, you should purchase this one. Thank you for reading this.
