Enermax MaxRevo 1350W, 12V Multiple Rail, 80 Plus Gold Full Modular ATX Power Supply EMR1350EWT

This is my first modern Enermax power supply. I normally use Corsair and Seasonic units, but I needed something over 1300W for quad SLI and other than using two smaller 1000W units you basically need a monster of a power supply. There are only a few models in the heavyweight 1500+ watt class and I feel that this Enermax is probably the best.The Good:High efficiency. Over 1500W of continuous power. Very good voltage stability and ripple suppression. Tons of heavy gauge cables for everything you could possibly install, including enough for dual CPU and 10 PCI-E cables for 5 250 watt GPUs! Heavy duty 14 gauge power cord. Quiet operation. 5-year warranty.The Bad:The cheaper Lepa 1600 is almost identical (built by Enermax) but is up to $50 cheaper with a shorter 3 year warranty. The cables are very stiff, making it more difficult to get good cable management. I have never been a fan of Enermax magma bearing fans, I prefer proven fans such as SanAce (Seasonic X units).Summary:The Enermax MAXREVO 1500 W is undoubtedly a high quality PSU capable of delivering a tremendous amount of power for those of us that have highly overclocked multi GPU systems. If you have the room you could use two high quality 1000W units of your choice and be fine, but if you do not and want a simple single unit solution this is the one to get. The other units from Silverstone and EVGA simply don't compete.

Las tarjetas PCI 2.0 16X, de 6-8 pines, tienen muy mala atención. NO PREPARADAS para ampliaciones futuras a 10 o 12 pines.

I bought this to power 4x r9 290x GPUs for scrypt mining. I've been running them on a Corsair AX1200i for a month now and it's been working great. I wanted to upgrade to a 1500W in order to squeeze some more power out of them (1200W is cutting it close for 4x r9 290x). I plugged in this 1500W PSU and it couldn't handle 4 of my cards running at 100%. My fault for not noticing the crappy setup they have going on over here with 6 rails total: 2 rails at 20A and 4 rails at 30A each.Unless you're willing to do some extensive trial and error to load balance your cards, I would stay away from this. If 1200 or 1300W is fine for you, I'd recommend the Corsair AX1200i or the Rosewill Lightning 1300W - both run on 1 rail.

Over all quality is really good. But design could go further. 1/ There needs to be multiple 5V rails providing twice the 5V power for systems with 24 Hard drives. As it is a proper design. You just use up all the 5V power for the Hard Drives leaving none for the Mother board. Doubling the 5V Power supply would allow a single 1500W power supply to power up the hole system. There would be any need for a 2nd Power supply in a really big system. But nobody makes it. Not Enermax or anybody else. Every Power supply you see only give 25A of 5V power on a single rail.2/ There all this envious on 12 V pwr. True it's needed but connector design only allows you to extract half the power that exists per rail. If one rail has 35A and there are only 3 SATA Molex connectors per rail with 6A max 12V pins at max you only extract 18amps to your drives.Yes you can extract more power out on the 12V PCIe ATX connectors but there are few devices using that power connection (Graphics card, Raid controller). It's needed but the over all design could be better. The SATA Molex connectors needed to by High AMP Bladed contacts. A designing a case mountable SATA Molex breakout HUBs for lots of SATA Molex connections vise just six on the power supply would be nice too. One cable connects to the High AMP blades a brings the power out into the chassis a the hub points. This would go well in double sided chassis like a CASE LABS TH-10. Enemax could add the High AMP Blade connectors while keeping the all the modular connections they now have and sell the hubs as accessories.3/ Also, there a need from a two pin 12V daisy chain power turn relay setup. This for Multiple Power Supplies. The Main could turn on the 2nd and the 2nd the turn on the third and etc.Enermax needs to remember who using this power supplies. Home System builders and Enthusiast's. They're not going into premade OEM PC's using $85 power supplies. These baby's cost $400 dollars and we want much more out them as to be expected.

Purchased to run the (extremely) power hungry R9 295x2 with enough headroom to add a second one in the future if I want. It handles running overclocked card and processor along with liquid cooling for each, various case fans 5 hard drives, etc. without a hitch. Highly recommend.

This thing is destined for bigger builds in the future. I love the modular design. So quiet! I was afraid it might be DOA as so many computer components seem to be as I reviewed everything I planned to put in my first two builds. But I took a chance. Home run. Did I say this thing is quiet? I have to put my ear near the back of the case to hear it. Perfect for the HTPC/gaming use I needed.
