Great product
Great coverage and low odor very easy to apply with a brush, wanted a matt finish after painting that would give good coverage and be hard wearing and this definitely lived up to my expectations. Gave my kitchen units 3 coats and great finish and easy clean. It goes a long way too. Would definitely recommend

Adds shine and the wall is easy to wipe down now
I brought this after doing so research with out having to repaint the wall in brought this because I made the mistake of getting the matt emulsion paint so when it dried I instantly didnt like the texture of the wall the matt paint made smudge marks from running my finger on a tiny bit. So once I had this I used a small roller as it goes on better. I have navy blue walls and I did end up buying about 3 tins just because of the size of the wall and It had about 4coats of the lacquer on but I. So pleased with it. It's now wipeable and looks shiny and fresh and looks so nice against the white door frame

Listen to the reviews regarding dark colours!
This is a great product, I used a paint sprayer to apply for an even coverage. It is unnoticeable on light colours, however applying neat to my darker cupboard doors it completely dulled the navy. I had to repaint with another coat of navy on top of the lacquer and then mixed the lacquer with the navy paint (4:1 lacquer to paint ratio) to ensure the paint retains its vibrancy. That seemed to work ok. Dries very quickly too which is a bonus. Lesson learned, listen to the reviews regarding dark colours before purchasing!!

Excellent on bare wood but beware of rust inside tin.
Just finished stripping all the hallway and staircase wood and wanted a nice transparent protective coating. It does slightly darken pine but gives it a warm look. The first tin I bought wasn’t enough to do the job so ordered another, however, after shaking and mixing the contents I noticed after about 20 minutes that a rusty looking bead of the liquid slowly moving from the top of the container into the rest of the white liquid. Upon inspection it turns out the tin is rusting once exposed to air and the contents. I had seen other reviews with this happening so it’s not an isolated case. The manufacturer should be onto this immediately as the rust contaminates the product. I’ve still given the product a 5 star rating as it’s excellent but beware of rusting tins!

Appaling stuff.
I share many of the comments and observations from others who have tried this product. Its no better than watered down PVA - often used to seal plaster! I purchased to laquer a over a dark acrylic painted mdf cabinet top, the surface of which took days to sand down to a beautuiful smooth finish using 400 grit. When i applied this stuff, it was nothing like what was described. Other than spraying I have no idea how anyone manges to achieve the finish claimed and described, using a brush or roller applicator. I used various brushes and roller types on a good sized test piece. What a disaster. I'm not sure what was worse, the streaky lines from a brush or the mottled effect from the various rollers I tried. Each attempt dried leaving the application pattern on the surface, not the desired smooth clear plain laquer i was expecting. Based on this experience I would not recommend this product. Others will have a different view - its a shame they havent explained how they managed the perfect finish in their positive reviews.

No lustre
this is a good quality Acrylic varnish but should not be described as a Lacquer I have tried layers of this to create a deep shine using metalics and metal flake and it lacks the finish of a spirit based lacquer a good product but not what it says on the tin!

Extremely good product and works on dark colours and doesn't change them.
Amazing product. After reading all the reviews and some saying it changes the colour if used on darker shade I was a bit skeptical but decided to take the plunge and try it. So glad I did. I've painted my new chest of drawers a verydark bottle green in matt paint (three coats to get the right depth) then I applied this product when the paint had dried. I wanted a matt finished but with waterproof protection. It worked andim really pleased. It goes on white and dried clear. It's now got the matt finish I wanted but is easier to clean and repels water. I'm super happy and recommend this product. If I need more this is my go to product.
